Pics or it didn't happen. No proof or body or even corresponding evidence was ever found to confirm Hitler's suicide either. Russia was caught trying to pawn off a female skull as Hitler's. It's pretty clear he was given safe harbor after his fall, and the suicide story was a concoction for political purposes. In this case we have nothing but words from Obama saying it happened. Despite his claims of DNA near-proof (99.5%), all it really proves is that the dead guy is one of Obama's father's 23 sons. And that is if we accept his word that there actually is DNA evidence. We've already been lied to multiple times for no apparent reason, and nothing has been provided to support what they claim really happened. If the pics are not released eventually (if they even exist), Obama will be handcuffed by critics and disbelievers and will have no chance at another term.
Maybe it's just my innate doubt of conspiracies, but I don't know how Obama could go this far in terms of a conspiracy and then not find a badass Photoshop person to whip up a picture of a dead Bin Laden. I am torn about whether I think the photo should be released. I don't need to see it, personally, to believe it. I don't care if the rest of the world thinks he's dead or not. I don't want to irk anyone in the world unnecessarily. BUT... I sort of agree with Palin about how we should stop pussyfooting around irrationality. If Muslims--or anyone else--are going to be upset with the US because of us releasing a picture of a dead Osama Bin Laden, then they're already mad at us and/or just waiting to be insulted. Maybe better to just be ourselves and have both sides deal with the consequences. In the end, I trust the President to make the best decision for our country. Ed O.

Would you want to be Bush or Cheney and come out to the American public and say that Osama was dead 7 or 8 years ago, but you didn't want to tell anyone because you wanted to keep fighting your war? Can you imagine what the backlash would have been?
When censorship of the photo is not necessary to protect national security. In this case that defense would be hard-pressed to carry weight in a court of law should media ask for them through the Freedom of Information Act, which is why they will eventually be released or be found to not exist.
