<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Voodoo Child @ May 25 2008, 06:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>So you think that's the life of Ben Gordon? Either you're very naive or Ben Gordon lives a pathetic existence. Anyway, I don't see why Noah can't go out and party at night during the offseason. What's the issue?</div> The few pro athletes I've known in my day tell me there's two basic kinds of guys. One group stays in their hotel rooms on the road and play video games (they're married, or committed in a relationship). The other group goes out and parties. Gordon? Dunno which group he'd be in.
Ben said he doesn't like to go out partying or go to the club because all of the people there are fake, and he can't trust the people he meets there's motives. He is looking for a strong relationship. Promiscuity is against his faith. He seems to be pretty well into his faith, not like a guy like Dwight Howard who says he is, but then has a baby out of wedlock...doubt there wil lbe any Gordon children out of wedlock. Remember, Ben Gordon is described by his mom as being born as a grandpa. He reminds me a lot of Avery Johnson. Johnson had his period of partying, drunk driving, etc. Then when he was drunk and almost drove off the bridge, he had a spiritual relationship, connected with God, and matured fast. Gordon is a lot like the mature Avery Johnson. I think this is one of the reasons why Johnson would be such a good coach for our team, he would instantaneously hit it off with Gordon. I think it is fair to say that Gordon is in the top percentile of good character guys in the league. Just watching him play, he rarely complains to the refs and almost never gets a technical. Back in 2004, Paxson was trying to bring in good character guys, so Gordon must have fit Paxson's description of good character guy at the time. Then you look at how great the guy has been for the organization. He has never thrown his fellow players under the bus, or lashed out against his coaches, even when it was obvious they were doing something completely idiotic. His biggest slip up of his career was saying, "We don't do Dunkin here"...which he made up for by working 2 hours at a Dunkin Donuts. (And I honestly think Gordon had no idea that Dunkin Donuts was one of the team's sponsors). Like look at Paxson's press conference the other day. He mentioned Ben, with a big smile, as sending Paxson a bunch of messages and talking to Paxson on tuesday. How many players do that, talk with management like that? Especially when not under contract no less. Not many, Tim Duncan with Popovich immediately comes to mind, but not too many others. Regardless of whether they are able to come to terms on a contract based on on court ability, no doubt in my mind that Gordon was the biggest pleasure for Paxson to have as part of his team since he took over.
Sorry dude, but that post was chalk full of crappy logic. I know for a fact that Ben Gordon is a Satan worshipper.

Is Ben Gordan even relevant in the NBA, still?
Oh, for sure. I'm not trying to scare Ben away. His insight on the NBA game should be top level. Nobody else here has experienced it like him.

Although, I think current interpretations of the Bible by a lot of Christians is BS. The Bible is a heavily manipulated book, so I wouldn't take it as the law of the land, but BG might.

Also, Noah might not only be smoking in the offseason. He might be smoking after games, before games, out partying until 4 AM the night before a noon game. Remember, his teammates voted unanimously (minus Gray- Florida and Curry-Michigan) to suspend him. There are things besides the Ron Adams things that led them to feel like they had to send a message like that.
