In baseball they call this a "challenge" trade. Your problem (Vonleh isn't NBA ready) for our problem (Batum's inconsistency). If you believe in the power of fresh starts, it can be a win/win situation. Or just as easily a lose/lose.
You beat me. Thanks to RealGM for leading to this article. https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/...another-run/jz6d0282fPgNejW4aXnVAK/story.html#
Quantity cheapens value; scarcity increases it. Especially when you expect to get another one every year. The Clippers used to get an early 1st-round pick every year. Many would leave at the ends of their contracts, but the team didn't mind. Charlotte had Noah Vonleh, Cody Zeller, Frank Kaminsky, Al Jefferson, and Marvin Williams. Imagine how valuable Aldridge is to the Spurs.
This means a parade in Portland. First Team Kyle Anderson (San Antonio) Seth Curry (New Orleans) Doug McDermott (Chicago) Norman Powell (Toronto) T.J. Warren (Phoenix) Second Team Larry Drew II (New Orleans) Emmanuel Mudiay (Denver) Dwight Powell (Dallas) Noah Vonleh (Portland) Alan Williams (Houston) http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...rs-kyle-anderson-named-nba-summer-league-mvp/ Championship game today 6 pm PT.
I think Von will challenge Myers for the starting pf. The reason is I am not sold on Myers yet. Yes he has improve his game but Von is little more skill then Myers.
Maybe eventually, but not this year, IMO. Vonleh is a gifted athlete and has a lot of potential, but he has zilch experience and couldn't crack Charlotte's rotation last year. My guess is that he's the 3rd option at PF to start the season behind Davis and Leonard.
Will Davis and Plumlee ever see the court at the same time? If not We'll see a duo of Leonard/Plumlee, Davis/Leonard, Vonleh/Davis, Vonleh/Plumlee. Also depends what we do with Kaman.
I don't believe the Blazers acquired Vonleh so that they could trade him later on. This guy is the future Blazers PF.
