Aldridge was one guy that did put on that muscle over the years. Although he rarely used it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not saying a guy isn't going to bulk up as he goes from 19 to about 25; that's completely normal. It's the "added 20 lbs. since April" stuff that gets a giggle out of me. A) because I hear it all the time and B) it's not humanly possible unless you are augmented chemically. EDIT: Adding 20 lbs. of fat would be possible however.
I love this kid already, and he looks like he will develop into a real two way player. On the offensive side he takes it hard to the rim but still has a nice jumper, two things that don't often exist in the same player anymore. On D he really has a lot of strength to hold ground and a lot of length to extend his frame. He isn't particularly tall but he has length like a 7 footer and beef like a linebacker.
I'm getting my hopes up guys.. Really good what we seeing so far. It's just beyond me why Charlotte would give up on him so quick
It's possible that he had out on 10-15lbs since the combine last year, combination of age and without program.... 20lbs since April though, nah.
I think it was closer to 240, but regardless, there's no way he's 260. The strength this kid plays with at 19 is crazy though.
He was 18 years old. I'd like to see some updated numbers. The eye test, he looks taller than 6'8" -- at the combine he was 6'8" w/o shoes.
It's so much worse for them. They don't have a sheed or a Brian grant or a sabonis. They gave up on him after one year. This is really just another Strickland for sheed and we are on the winning side again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In terms of build Vonleh was considered the biggest winner at the combine last year. At 21, Karl Malone came into the NBA at the same size: 6'9" 250 lbs. Edit 1992 Olympics: Malone: 6'8" w/o shoes | 6'9.25" w/shoes | 7'2" wingspan | 250 lbs. As Vonleh matures I think his ceiling is 270 lbs.
Vonleh said he's spent the summer working on his game and adding muscle to his frame as he prepares for the physical toll of a full NBA season. He said he's been lifting weights and focusing on his upper body while taking creatine to add mass. "I finished off the season at 240 (pounds); right now I'm at 255, almost 260, but I might try to slim down a little bit more," he said. "I like being quick on my feet." "I'm going to be going against a lot of grown men – guys stronger than me – so I got to be ready for it." http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...l?hootPostID=64a5e8f7da5a4e68fc7f78966529bd21
