    Exactly.

And why do you think that is? :dunno:

Seems if he had no reason at all to follow and scold another driver...he wouldn't have.

Only reason I can think of why the Fake News would purposely present only one side would be to fool and control the minds of the simpletons who believe everything they read from their few, chosen, friendly sources and never question or look for contradicting views or facts or even the Rest of The Story (I really miss Paul Harvey).

Probably would have just quickly lost the fight that HE STARTED, then hopefully been arrested for assault or attempted murder.

The van driver remained in his van and at no time made any threats whatsoever. You can't physically assault someone for calling you rude even if they call you something far more objectionable. There was no implication of violence anywhere in this situation. It's a verbal disagreement between 2 drivers, one or both not courteous drivers.

Had he not used a certain word there would be no video on youtube.

There would have been no video because this sort of thing happens every day. It was the use of the 'N' word that elevated things in my opinion.

Yep, somebody was extremely rude and very probably violated the traffic code. I'm gonna bet it was most likely the guy who demonstrated a lack of self control.

I had a brother with Down Syndrome and I spend some of my 'free' time with mentally and physically disabled people, and this triggers me beyond what it should. I'm fine admitting it but it makes me want to cry, and then go into a frothing rage on whatever dim wit would treat someone like that. I need to get out of the topic page, or go have my hormones balanced by spending time with my girls...

When I was a small kid in the early 50s there was a lady with a Down's syndrome child who would walk the downtown area of Oswego. You could see her and her child taking a stroll every day always taking the same route. Even then at my early age I felt it was wrong to stare. In fact, everyone in town treated them like everyone else saying hi whenever we passed by. There was a lot of prejudice against racial minorities in that town in those days but I'm proud to say there was none against this lady and her child.

I think the attitude of the whole town made it easier to take an accepting attitude toward her and her child. I like to think of this kind of sociological behavior as getting over the hump. Once you get over the imaginary hump it becomes self reinforcing and extremely healthy.

A kind of a side note, I see mass transit as a hump problem. Mass transit has been difficult to get Americans use to and so it's been slow to catch on. When I was in Korea, everyone took mass transit and so it was very popular. Even taxis were cheap. Hardly anyone owned a car.

Funny how I remember that lady and her young daughter all these decades, well over half a century, later so very well. I place it's importance alongside my very fond memories of going to the Oswego Lake swim park every day in the summer.

The big difference in mass transit here vs places like Korea or NY is the density of population. In many densely populated places mass transit makes a heck of a lot of sense. A good chunk of Americans have long commutes to work, need to drive 10-20 minutes or more for groceries or whatever. I grew up in St. John’s and North Portland and spent a lot of my childhood riding buses around to get places, but now that I live in Cornelius while mass transit is available, I couldn’t imagine having to use it everywhere I need to go.

I use to have in-laws in Cornelius. My ex wife's uncle was the oldest Rosarian ever and he lived in Cornelius. A really nice guy.

An old hippy days buddy of mine, Rod Fuiten, is now on the Forest Grove city council. Forest Grove is pretty near.

Mass transit only makes sense if everyone lives in a box, works in a different box, and has no other life or want for Freedom of movement.

    You know, Socialist countries.

In the case of Portland and most large cities, mass transit was successfully introduced in order to encourage gangs from LA to expand to the city.

OMG, what world do you live in? No mass transit in LaPine? And here I always thought mass transit was introduced to large cities to ease transportation pains. This is probably the dumbest post I have read on this forum.

Drats, foiled again. Our plan to get LA gangs to expand into Portland was supposed to be top secret.

By the way, what does living and working in a box mean? Does it mean we're not hunter-gatherers?

I don’t post much or read much of the off topic stuff. Is this like an inside joke I’ve read his post a few times and the subsequent ones and I don’t really get the connection...
I was at least following him, up until those last couple sentences...

I've been told that he plays a game trying to ensnare the feeble minded. It makes sense since no one with a rational mind would come up with such outrageous things. I think it's a cruel joke played on his victims.

Gangs form because of a common interest among young men in railroading, so naturally they spread to areas with rail lines. Thus the common gang terms '12-gauge' and 'O-gauge', and it also explains the meaning of the phrase 'steam punk'.
