No thanks. I don't much care for basketball. I love stats, though.

Prior to the game Chauncey Billups made some type of public promise that the Nuggets run of poor performances was over. That's what scared me most about this game.

Then, in Q3, when Melo went to the bench with his 4th foul, Chauncey proceeded to take over. Pretty much game at that point.

    Fuck he was (is) good.

If Bayless has any chance of being that good in the future I'm willing to wait.

It's all about matchups. Portland does not in any way match up well with Denver.

Point Guard: Billups and Miller at best is a draw but more then likely Billups is better then Miller.
Shooting Guard: Roy is more talented then AA but AA's on ball defense is excellent which reduces Portland's advantage quite a bit.
Small Forward: Melo is a bad matchup for most teams in the league and Portland is no exception. Guarding that dude takes a whole lot of strength and speed. Batum has speed, but not the strength.
Power Forward: Clear advantage to Portland here with Martin out. We needed Aldridge to open up a huge can of whoop ass to when. He didn't and Portland didn't.
Center: Camby is a good outside shooter and off ball defender but he was physically overmatched by Nene. They tried to front Nene a couple of times to avoid being over powered. Both the times I recall ended in a Nene dunk.

Bench: Only Martell showed up and JR Smith negated him. The rest of Denver's bench bitch slapped Portland's.

That is how it was in last nights game. It will be no different in the playoffs. The key to Portland beating Denver lies in trying to free up Roy and LA going nuts. Anything less and they lose.

You should never be surprised when we lose to a good team on their home court.
