If I remember correctly, @dviss1 wanted Bernie as the Democratic candidate.

He did, however I never heard him be critical of his party for nominating her, even during the primaries. I believe he is feeling EW will be their next nominee, Im just not sure that the Clintons will let that happen as they feel entitled and embolden, and would once again do whatever needed as she did against Bernie. She will slide to the middle big time, and put down the far left socialist movement in order to do better in the midwest. She will try and appeal to make up with the deplorables, would would be a good move on her behalf.
Im a libertarian changing back to independent, but if all the dems do from here on out, is want to investigate everything, and turn everything to race, it will get old and back fire on them. I feel they would not have lost more senate seats if they hadn't delayed /deceived the Kav nomination which they knew was going to happen anyway. It essentially back fired on them and put a damper on what was supposed to be a blue title wave, instead some purple rain. Id like to see the demos bring some bipartisanship and conciliation to show American people they have not gone so radically socialist and can actually help heal the country's wounds and manage government.

You sound silly right now. Sorry it's just true.

Even the conservatives in here know I can't stand Hillary and that she's never garnered a vote from me.

It looks like that last line will turn out to be more like -37, not -26.

I'm too lazy to do the research, but I wonder if number of seats tells the whole story. That is, a loss of 50 seats means a lot more if you are starting with 100 seats than it does if you start with 300 seats.

You're mitigating the damage that happened on election day. It's WAY worse than y'all are saying. It's literally the worst since Watergate.

Y'all lost 7 governors mansions, 11 state legislatures, 350+ state seats, plus the 27 (and counting) in the House.

And you think there wasn't a wave. We now have more diversity and the most women (thank you dems) ever.

    Then there's this:

Registered nurse Lauren Underwood wants to become the first black woman to represent her district

In a district that's NEVER voted for a woman, is 81% white, and is a district that's been gerrymandered to Hell so it's mostly Republican.

    BE AFRAID TRUMPETS.

It was a WOMEN'S wave ushered in by the Democrats.

Trump lost a LOT of power in Tuesday. Stop trying to make yourself feel good about it. It's actually for the best.

might have a lot more to it. would be curious about district compositions in earlier elections vs. present gerrymandering. i understand it has always been with us, but has been taken to new levels with the information age, and was a strategy of the losers of the last election cycle previous to the last census. is very difficult scenario, the finding of bipartisanship, when parties win the popular vote yet are under represented proportionally. this must change in future elections or our countries divides will only get deeper. hope for change was on the ballot in a couple of states. the initiatives won.
edit: i understand this will not affect national elections for president(electoral college), states governors or the US senate. it will however be a determining factor in under representation at the state levels of governance as well as US house, which IMO, is just as important to solving our partisan divisions.
