<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The world as it speaks to Kyle Lowry is telling him two things.

    1) He can be a millionaire at this time next year.

    2) He can become the top dog at Villanova.

Lowry, the dynamo sophomore point guard at Villanova, said he isn't listening to the unsolicited advice that is being chirped in his ear more often than ever.

But he will have to say something back at some point.

Though Villanova's basketball season has ended, a busy and important part of the player's life is just beginning.

One of the most intriguing developments for Villanova will be whether Lowry makes a move for the NBA or becomes an even more central figure as a junior for the Wildcats, whose season ended Sunday in a regional final of the NCAA tournament.

Yesterday at the Pavilion, Lowry shook his head and shrugged more often than he gave definitive answers.

"I don't know," he said. "I'm not leaning toward anything right now."

Lowry has proven to be a gritty, fearless and unselfish 6-foot guard, averaging 11 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. A highlight reel of his quick-paced and astonishing plays could only be set to a Twista rap.

Villanova would take a significant hit if Lowry left. The Wildcats already are losing seniors Randy Foye, who is projected as a top-10 draft pick, and Allan Ray, who is a second-round selection in many mock drafts.

Lowry, a Cardinal Dougherty High product, said he will not decide until after he meets with Villanova coach Jay Wright and Lowry's brother and mother.

Lonnie Lowry said his younger brother focused only on Villanova during the season and is in no rush to decide now.

"My only advice to him was just, 'Play ball,' " he said. "We haven't really talked about it."

If he decides to jump, NBA scouts said, there is no doubt that a team would scoop him up.

"Kyle is well regarded amongst NBA teams because of his tenacity and aggressive play," said one scout, who asked to remain anonymous. "I can't get over how he can destruct a game by himself. His stock rose tremendously this year."

The main knock on Lowry, who loves driving to the hoop, is his shooting ability.

Scouts said that the NBA would figure it could improve Lowry's jumper.

"They like his upside," the same scout said. "They think his shot will get better."

Wright also will help Foye and Ray navigate the journey into NBA waters.

He said Curtis Sumpter, who took a medical redshirt this season and is eligible to play next season, may participate in the June predraft camp in Orlando, Fla.

Wright said he also will explore options for senior Jason Fraser, who came to Villanova as an all-American who considered skipping college altogether. After several injuries, Fraser has a questionable future as a pro.

Wright said Fraser could work out and rehabilitate for a season, play in Europe, or test this season's draft.

Most of Villanova will have its eyes on Lowry's next move.

Lowry said he will take advice from those closest to him, such as Wright; his family; his teammates; and his mentor, Jameer Nelson, who played at St. Joe's and is now with the Orlando Magic.

    Nelson's advice to Lowry?

"Only listen to himself," said Nelson, who played all four years for the Hawks. "He is the only one who has to live through his decision. Nobody else has to live through it."

Wright said he will not put undue pressure on Lowry to stick with the Wildcats.

"I think he just has to make a decision on how he wants to go to the league and what type of college career he wants to have," Wright said.</div>

He's going to be awesome, but he didn't have a great tourney. Lowry should stay in school at least one more year IMO, and work on his shot and his control (which is already ridiculous but could only get better.)
