I would not argue that one. I am not going to think about why this didn't get done earlier. It's futile, and does nothing but make me angry. Time to move on, and look forward to Aldridge being next. I swear if I could time warp to pre season, where Aldridge is signed, and everybody is excited to get camp going, I would.
I can't believe a man without leverage like Roy ended up getting a max deal, for max years, as the economy continues to crumble.
There'd be no need to put that small of a range on it. If the salary cap drops as much as it might according to the NBA, the max salary would be about a million dollars a year lower than it is now, and it would be about $75.6m. It'll be interesting to see where the contract ends up. Ed O.
Don't forget no in***es between now and then as well. Frankly, LMA's deal is far less crucial for me as a fan, and I'm happy with the Roy result.
It's not clear that it's max money from that report. In any case, I find it less remarkable that he WOULD get max money than that he would NOT end up all bent out of shape. Haven't you been leading the charge about how badly the negotiations have been scewing things up? Ed O.
Its pretty pathetic to actually put someone on an ignore list. Just don't read those posts. One must have absolutely no will power to even consider that. Its anonymous and you can just look at the username and choose to not read it. Makes me laugh.
I think Aldridge's will take longer than a day to complete. His should be the one that requires the negotiating.
Yep. Although if Aldridge wants 70 over 5, they really aren't that far apart. If it were me, I would offer him flat money instead of raises. Start him at a little over 12 per season and keep it there. That would be a good move considering there is likely to be a hard cap when they sign the new CBA
I'd be aiming for $55-60 million/5. That's a very fair deal for LMA and the Blazers. I just can't see 70/5 as being realistic for LMA at this point. Or, perhaps a 4 year deal at a higher per/year salary.
Agree with PapaG. 5 years/$70 mil is too much for Aldridge at this stage of his career. I think the $10 or $11 mil/per is about right. And/or you could incentivize the hell out of the contract with bonus dollars for reaching certain numbers in rebounds/blocked shots (I wouldn't do points) and making the all star team.
According to the Fan the Blazers deny they are having a press conference tomorrow. Wouldn't be surprised if they have one though.
The Fan is now reporting that Roy got the player option for the 5th year. Never listen to the fan as much as since I got comcast!
Uh yeah, double-talk. On one hand you say "it's pathetic to put someone on your ignore list" but then you go right around and say, just "choose not to read them", basically ignoring the poster. Make up your mind dude, lol. I just choose to ignore the jack-ass because all he does is stir the pot around here for attention.
