What will be done with Vin Baker and what are the options? Contract status Three years remaining at nearly $44 million. 1-Expansion Draft........that won't happen. 2-Buyout....Celtics buy him out for something less than the $44 million. Whatever that price is, subtract it from the $44 million and the remainder divided by three is the cap relief Boston gets. 3-Retirement....Baker retires and Celtics get to total cap relief....isn't going to happen. 4-Retirement due to medical reasons....a ruling would have to be made that his condition prohibits him from playing. A date would be set as to when the condition started and depending on the date, Baker's money would be kept on the books for 1-1/2 to 2 years from that date. 5-Termination....terminate the contract if Baker goes into relapse and all the money would come off the books. As of this date, baker is still in rehab and with an excellent lawyer, this could actually take place. Players Association would surely become involved. #1, 3 or 5 would work best for the team but I would expect the solution will more likely be #2.
Baker's fat butt should get suspended by league officials!!! :-x He ain't no professional basketball player anymore... He should try to start a new career as an idiot for slim fast commercials! By the way: He should go to the commercial casting together with Fatman Kemp! Peeze out
Nah..Vin Baker should be Bill Walton's announcing partner...imagine them two side by side....be boring....
A buyout or termination would be most likely but I dont think retirement is out of the questrion. He cant be enjoying his time in the NBA right now and him sticking around getting paid for stewing in a rehab clinic would only cement him as one of the greatest professional thieves in American History
