they have financial space for at least one more minimum, but if they give walker a standard contract they’ll need to dump someone like Didi first. I don’t see any remaining free agent getting more than the minimum outside the obvious names like Ayton.
I don't really want the guy here again but Aldridge is also available. Put up decent numbers last year for 47 games.
I'd be OK with Aldridge returning on a min. but my daughter wouldn't. LA was her favorite player until he turned coat. Now, she can't stand him, and wants nothing to do with him. I think he's paid enough penance making that move to the Spurs, and really missing a great opportunity here. He could be a nice veteran addition to the bench.
Don’t get the Nurk hate. Offensively hes never looked better and last year he was used in a higher usage role. He’s a good passer, sets good screens, better than average rebounder and plays really good team defense.
signed with the Celtics and then blew out his knee, again https://www.nba.com/news/danilo-gallinari-suffers-torn-acl STOMP
My pizza guy just told me that Nurk is on his way out when he is eligible to be traded. Apparently Nurk is going to Indiana for Myles Turner. Said that it was Nurk + Unnamed “young talent” & a future 2nd round pick. Said the team was all in on making changes to the roster after CJ was traded. Only untouchable player is obviously Lillard. I guess the team wants to pair a quicker more athletic center with Dame. We basically robbed Denver for Nurk. Helped him get paid, to move him for someone else. I do think that trade is an upgrade for us.
If it was just an understanding of getting him paid, why would it not have been a sign and trade, instead of waiting 3 months in to the season to deal for an expiring turner.
Turner is not happy in Indiana and the Pacers have had issues negotiating a contract extension with him. Pacers want to move Turner for fear that he might leave in FA.
I've been a Pizza guy, and a huge sports fan. Sometimes you hear scuttle butt in different places, but 99.9 % of it is pure bullshit. Maybe this turns out to be true, but i doubt it. I don't see Turner as better than Nurk. Different yes.
Remember being at Track Town Pizza (My Favorite since Chico's on 82nd, back in the '70's), and a Duck Alum told me they were going to install a more "Manning Like" offense to better suit Justin Herbert. That sure as hell didn't happen.
I get that. I just don't see why, if this was the plan, that it wouldn't have been a S&T of nurk. It makes no sense to outright sign him, and play 35 games with us, establish our rotation and cohesiveness, and then try to insert someone new in that plays totally different.
