Good fucking grief if we trade those two for what they're worth and don't trade CJ at all, I hope Cronin gets replaced before exit interviews. If he's another zombie in the Blazers' FO that thinks Dame and CJ are a good idea, we're fucked.

well. pulling these odds directly out of my colon I'd say there's about a 10% chance RoCo re-signs with Portland and maybe a 40% chance Nurkic would; maybe less. So this looks like wanting to 'get something before they walk' as much as anything else

if Portland doesn't make CJ available the idiocy continues

His contract is not as tradeable...I truly believe they'll trade Norm before they trade CJ at this point...some of that would be Dame not buying into moving him. Guys making CJ money aren't on the block except Simmons ane Philly doesn't want that move I'd guess

Well Norm's contract is simply technically not tradable because he signed for more than a 20% increase in salary using his bird rights... so he can't be traded. So it's either fucking do the sensible thing and trade CJ and a bunch of picks for Simmons or trade CJ for a couple of good players making around 13M... or just keep rolling with the three guard lineup because that's been great.

There is another option but it requires making CJ a Jamal Crawford like six man and jerking him out of the starting lineup. If trading CJ loses you Dame...it's not worth that. Dame is our best trade asset and if you trade him you lose that GM job quickly.

If trading CJ means Dame wants out, Dame isn't who he says he is and he isn't who I think he is, so ship his ass out too. This Dame/CJ thing does not work, anyone who doesn't understand that by now either needs to get over it or get off the team.

Keeping Dame, is not worth keeping Dame/CJ. Dame has high trade value, so if he won't play hear without CJ then you blow the whole thing up. I actually think Dame would be just fine with a CJ trade if it made the team better.

Making CJ a 6 man IS splitting up the Dame CJ backcourt.....you slide Norm to the 2 and trade Rock and Nurk for a 6'8 wing and another center and you're a better team...not saying they'll do this but CJ is a perfect 6 man ...they may find a taker for CJ but so far teams haven't been biting on trading for him....I'd trade him to Boston in a heartbeat for Tatum, Brown .not sure Boston would do that..

spending nearly 1/3 of the salary cap for a 6th man doesn't make much sense. It's not a formula for contending, IMO...just more purgatory

Lou Williams won three 6th-man-of-the-year awards and he averaged less than 7M/year when he won them. CJ averages 33M, nearly 5 times as much

there have been a ton of logical contortions over the last 6 years trying to justify CJ's role on the team. The reality is that CJ, his contract, & Olshey's blind passion for CJ, have been the biggest roadblocks to Portland taking the next step. That doesn't change because Olshey is gone. As long as CJ is hogging all the shots and salary cap he is, there's not enough air in the room for a better player

We don't know if teams haven't been biting on trades for him.

Tatum, I get. Brown I get (neither of which Boston would trade for CJ in a million years)...but Smart?!

Smart is undersized, has a much worse PER than CJ does, is a *CAREER* 38% from the floor (and I rounded UP to get that) and shoots 32% from 3 and he's owed almost 77 MILLION dollars over the next 4 years.

    Hell no.

I believe Blazers are more in "shhh hit the fan" situation and it is just a begining of sale. (great Chumbawamba album, btw)

And here we can start the discussion, what we can get in a trade for Dame and CJ together.

As I said.....I don't see teams lining up to trade for that bloated contract but they would trade for Ant or Nas probably....the money is already spent on CJ so if you can't move him you can improve the way you use him and Dame on the team...and that means not caring how much Lou Williams, Jason Terry or Jamal Crawford or Manu Ginobli made but caring about getting a scoring punch off the bench..we're definitely not buying out CJs deal at this point...at any rate Joe seems to understand what he needs to do so I'm curious how he moves pieces.

I've only heard one rumor about CJ and that was the James Harden trade....before that and since I haven't and the rumor mill isn't usually quiet about trades even if they're wrong...maybe Ben Simmons but Philly sites said that wasn't ever happening...I think that was Blazer media fueled

IF those rumors are true…..IF…… these would be my 2 candidates. Haven’t heard or seen anything, just a vibe.
