Not only is Nurk the best P&R man Damian's played with, he is also the best shotblocker. Currently, Nurk is averaging 2.1 BPG with us. The last Blazers player to average 2 or more?

Two players did it during the same year: 2009-10 - Marcus Camby (2.0) and Greg Oden (2.3, but only played 21 games....).

Before that? You have to go back to 2005-06 when Joel Pryzbilla blocked 2.3 per game (Joel only played 56 games that year).

The previous year Theo Ratliff blocked 2.5 per game for us, but he too played only 63 games.

The year before that Theo blocked an amazing 4.4 blocks per game, but was only able to play 32 games.

Before that you have to go all the way back to the 92-93 season when Cliff Robinson blocked 2.0 per game. He played in all 82 games.

Conclusion/TL;DR: No Blazer has blocked 2.0 per game or more while playing in at least 64 games since Uncle Cliffy (an SF) did it in 92-93. Apparently, it is exceedingly difficult to block 2 per game and stay healthy at the same time (the last player to do it, Cliff Robinson, was basically a 6' 10" bean pole!). Currently, Nurk is averaging 2.1 with the Blazers (in 14 games). Here's to hoping he can play a full season next year while keeping up his intimidation!
