Ayton would cost the team too much in terms of money , and how much talent they can assemble with their cap flexibility. Makes no sense. I think the team can acquire OG Anunoby for their 7th pick. Then hopefully they could acquire John Collins from the Hawks for the Bucks pick, (throw in a second pick if necessary) and cap relief, the Hawks so badly need and want. That is best case scenario IMO. Then you get to keep the Bench depth with Hart, an underrated developing Nas Little, and Joe Ingles. Along with Eubanks (I think he's a quality backup C) & Watford, that's pretty dog gone good.
If we could get the Collins deal done before we pulled the trigger on moving our pick for only one of the two starting forwards we need, I'd feel really good about it.
I agree about Ayton...and OG.....and Eubanks....and Trendon...and Ingles... You're gonna have to sell me on John Collins, though. And if we were to get OG, why would we need Little? (I'm not a Little fan).. Quite frankly, I'd rather have Nurk seven days a week over Collins.
Hope so. Way it looks to me is they are paying him and he will be here. Hope we get the best beast yet!
I get what your saying, but i truly believe that John Collins playing besides an underrated facilitator in Dame, would revitalize his career. And Nurk would still be the center with Collins being the 1st quality PF (ability wise) since LaMarcus.
...who is a better facilitator though, Dame or Trae? Collins does seem most similar to LMA, but I don't know if that is a good thing if he's going to play as soft as the marshmallow.
Depending on the haul, i think id prefer it. I don't see why we cant sign and trade Ant with a pick to nail a solid starter. In a forward position.
Mostly because there are a lot of roadblocks to that, namely that Ant would have to want to go to the team we'd be trading him to, they'd need to want him at the salary he'd command, and that the raise he'd inevitably receive would make him a base-year-contract, which is very difficult to match in trades (of course, not relevant of the player we receive fits into the TPE). So I guess I'd ask you what trade suggestion you'd make that would fit all those criteria?
Why are you making me think on rest day? I posed the statement for others like yourself to just figure it out! I shall see your question with an answer before the day is over sir!
Looking forward to it; I just hope it's someone more compelling than Kyle Kuzma (the first guy I thought of who might fit the bill, but also made me throw up in my mouth a little bit).
I think we can get a solid starter or two without including Ant. Including Ant should get us an All Star.
We can do better than that without dealing Ant, IMO. I think we can get Randle and Grant without including Ant. If including Ant doesn't bring us a legit Star then I'm not sending him anywhere right now.
I don't disagree; I just can't think of an all-star (or all-star-caliber) player that would be available from a team who would want Ant in exchange.
that is what people said about trading CJ for 6 years nothing guarantees failure like expecting to trade a quarter for a dollar
Except we didn't have a #7 pick to pair with CJ and Ant doesn't have CJ's contract. If we can get Randle and Grant for 7 and change without including Ant, why would we include him? And Randle has already been an all star, and is considered a top 10 power forward. I don't think Ant needs to be traded like CJ did, because we have Hart.
Agreed. Them I'm 100% fine with keeping Ant. But if we can get a legit star with #7 and Ant I'm all over it...
I would trade Lillard to the Bulls for Lonzo Ball and Patrick Williams. Or something similar. Get Lonzo and and another meaningful player who plays forward. Then use our draft pick on Jalen Duren. Can you imagine Lonzo throwing lobs to Duren and passes out to Ant for 3-pointers? I can. And Lillard ends up in a very good spot.
