I completely agree. With that said, from what I saw in the last game, he has better footwork than any other big on the team already. I have been a fan of Terry overall so far. I thought he has done alot with a team that completely transformed in three years. With that said, he HAS to get a solid big man coach. This is a must in the off season. If this doesn't happen, I think it will be the biggest knock on him so far. This is a necessity for more than just team improvement. Its a necessity to show other bigs(potential future draftees) that we can make them better and have them start to want to come here. If we can revitalize Nurkic's career and get a good coach for him to really expand and blossom his game, other bigs will see that too I think. Something. Anything to help try to show the league Portland is a place to be to better your career so when we trade for players, they are excited about coming here. Ima start a chant everytime Nurkic plays, but on dead balls. BIG MAN COACH BIG MAN COACH I know @Chris Craig will out yell me on this one. He's a damn yodeler.
If you're not extremely excited about the guy at this point then you aren't actually a blazer/basketball fan.
It makes ya wonder what the rest of the league really thinks about our front court and cap/FA prospects. It's not often that a player traded mid-season appears to feel like they won the lottery after just one game. He must know how bad we need him!
Does nyone have any vidieos of Juric the kid that stayed with Denver. I would like to see them compared to Nurkic. It is still mind boggling to believe Juruic(sic) is better. Maybe with Denvers style of play.
That's what I thought last year. Cause nurkics rookie year he showed so much talent. But I think of it like this, Nurkic has a ceiling of Marc gasol-ish. Jokic has a ceiling of Hakeem (Offensively).
Yeah, Nurks talent is good enough to where he would've been developed as a starter on numerous teams. He was just stuck behind an even better talent and also had some misfortune with an injury which hurt his development in Denver.
Stotts has no need for such a coach. In the Stotts system, big men play like small forwards. As the video shows, Nuric is being groomed the same as all other Stotts big men.
Another Grade of the Deal: Portland B+ http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/new...gets-analysis-grade/7qsyt0hcs4hn1r88lzbtxivr8
One of my favorite announcers in the league. In fact when I heard the Boogie news one of the first things I thought was "I wonder what the Kings announcers have to say about this".
Interesting though that almost all of his positive stats are offensive. His defensive numbers are average at best. It will be interesting to see if that high PER helps Denver or he just ends up being a stat-whore. He is young enough to work on the defensive end.
I wouldn't call Plumlee a soft player by any stretch, but I'd say Nurk is further on the Przybilla spectrum than Plums. It will be nice to have that kind of mindset down on the block. Can he develop into an All-Star player here in Portland?
The March 28th home game vs Denver is going to be very interesting. Plumlee will probably get a warm welcome from the crowd, and Nurk will want to absolutely destroy Jokic.
