Hey Sly, sorry it took so long to respond, I was doing the family thing last night. First, while it may be illegal, I have seen first hand how the intake process goes down and the questions asked as well as the questions that are avoided. I have also seen first hand that if someone does not speak english, they are provided with an interpreter. I have also seen the intake workers coach those seeking aid as to what they should put down on the forms. Lastly I know that it is standard practice to use false social security numbers. Going one step further, while it is against the law to receive public assistance, how do you come to grips with the fact that our schools have to teach classes in spanish and that dual immersion is a norm? Free breakfast and lunch for students provided by federal funds? For the record, believe that a case by case examination needs to go into effect. There are plenty of excellent people that deserve to become citizens. I have a very close friend that has been here for almost twenty years, only one of his children were born here. I can not see where it would be of any benefit to break up his family and deport those that are not citizens. There needs to be a way to take someone like him that is in business for him self and make exceptions to allow a path way to citizenship. The issue is that to pick and choose what laws obama wants to enforce and those he deliberately does not for political gain is wrong. We need to close the boarders, amnesty those deserving such, and cease the practice of birth right citizenship. If you can no longer get a free ride from popping out a child as soon as you cross into the US, then that removes the desire to do so.

I saw Obama's speech last night. It looked forced and he seemed not too familiar with the words on the teleprompter. But I generally agree with him that it's absurd to round up millions of people and force them to leave. It's also an international crime against humanity (per Geneva Conventions, see forced migration). He isn't able to grant anyone citizenship, so these people aren't going to vote anytime soon. He didn't grant any kind of amnesty or pardon. Whatever he can do via presidential EO, the next president can undo just as easily.
I have no problem with amnesty if 1) It is done in a legal manor. 2) Unlike the Reagan mess, it is done AFTER we secure the borders. 3) Criminals get booted. Period. Then we should remove the reason they come here and pop out kids.
