I know this is CNN but Smerconish is a guy I respect in the media. He has a great take: Why Obama should veto 9/11 families bill
We want our President to bring the Saudis to a US court to answer for 9/11. It's his sworn duty. He won't because our government was in cahoots with them from Day 1. The least he could do is step aside and let Justice be sought.
I'm not one for suing people. Like I was at the DMV last time I got my license renewal and I had to park way out and I cut through some trees that looked all nice and fluffy but the landscapers had left a jagged branch sticking out and it caught my favorite shirt and tore it and sliced my shoulder open. Phew, that was a long sentence and I said it with a valley girl voice in my head as I typed it. Anyway, I should have totally sued those fuckers and people with lesser cases have probably sued and won or at least settled but I'm just not a big lawsuit type of guy. I could have got some disease from the tree and died. Then my wife would have sued, I hope anyway. EDIT, I still have a scar on my shoulder.
I am not surprised a bunch of lawyers unanimously passed a bill that would create more work for lawyers. I am also not surprised that a politician vetoed a bill that would eventually result in holding him accountable and financially responsible for his actions.
Our government was a co-conspirator in 9/11, so the veto was a given. It will be over-ridden and it will be the nail in Hillary's political coffin.

We told you. Now Dems and Repubs are both scrambling because they didn't read their own bill. Fucking dumbasses. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...from-us-for-victims-of-invasion-a7343996.html
It's probably not. But senate Repubs have been holding press conferences for days. GOP leaders express reservations a day after 9/11 veto override Top Republicans Seek Delay in Veto Override of 9/11 Bill Congress May Rewrite Saudi 9/11 Law After Veto Override
We are a nation of laws. If someone commits a crime here, or harms someone, they should face it in the courts, criminal or civil. If we can't respect the rule of law when we're guests in other countries, we should face the consequences. If you get busted in Mexico with drugs, the US government won't step in on your behalf. If we drop bombs on a wedding, we should pay the damages. The Iraqis who were abused at Abu Grahib should have a right to sue. It will hopefully make us be good and consider the ill effects of interfering in other nations' affairs.
