And after I removed all those pictures for you...

But hell, if Chris McGowan is banging my mom I'm getting us a Moda suite for the rest of the season!

Every February 2nd we gather at the Rose Quarter and wait for the McGowan to step of the Blazer offices and see if he sees his shadow. Last year he didn't and we ended up with 5 more years of Comcast.

Most of Portland has a fairly light dusting and the freezing rain doesn't start until later tonight or tomorrow. Kinda weak.

It might start coming right before the fans would be leaving the games. The snow load has been kind of disappointing, but Im not surprised.

Utah has very dry snow - much like most of the rest of the country. Driving on dry snow is very different than driving on wet snow or ice. People who laugh at the PNW response to snow don't understand these major differences.

You mean I can watch the Blazers play thier season all summer long in the afternoons?
Im fucking moving! Im looking for jobs in Sydney!!!
No I will get advice first.
Fuck. SOOO tired of basketball in the winter. dark before the games even start....
Man, Im seriously looking into that for potential retirement.

So if I have seen the Crocodile Dundee serious, I pretty much know all I need to know, right? :)

On the serious, that is bad ass. Summer sports are soooo boring....

I love when people laugh at the PNW, then I go on a national news site like MSN and see that there was a 30-car pileup in a place that is used to snow (like Connecticut today).

My dad (who grew up in a snowy area) would tell all his relatives who made fun of Portland/Metro, that it's a different story here.

Besides the fact the city/region isn't used to it, it's a different kind of snow. Like you said dry snow on flat areas isn't difficult to handle.

Wet snow is completely different, throw ice on top of that AND the weird way the Gorge winds blow...well, you have a mixed bag of shit.

    And then you have hills?

    fuck that noise.

Totally. I've been driving in snow for 20+ years. Born/raised driving in PNW, but have driven in snow in BC, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah. The only time I've ever gotten my car sideways, or slipping, has been in Portland. And I live on the east side, so don't ever deal with the west hills which I can only image are death slides. I LOVE driving in the snow in the mountains, but all but refuse to drive when it snows in the city.

Also, I'm not sure if this is true, but I feel like roads in the PNW are crowned far more heavily than other places - where they may be slightly crowned or completely flat. You put ice on a crowned road and you're gonna slide off to the side of the road.

That's awesome! I didn't see it happen, but I was on Mississippi probably within 30 minutes of that taping! I wish I had seen it when it happened.
