That is a totally ridiculous post and is not even close to representing what I posted about Oden.

Uh "worried about Oden's Pysche" is what you explained when talking about his reaction to Broy's accomplishment.

I guess that could be taken many ways, but when I read that in the context of the other posts, it's pretty clear to me that you and a few others are over analyzing as usual.

I just chose to use "doomsday" to light a little fire up in here, whatever, your post still insinuates negativity.
    :dunno:

You should be getting ripped in the other thread for that. Brandon Roy is the center piece of this team. W/O him, we MIGHT be a .500 team. If I was starting an NBA team and I got to pick any player - there are probably 4-5 other guys I'd pick before B-Roy. He's that good, and so so clutch. He has that intangible ability to raise his level of play in the final minutes of a game that you just don't see very often. Kobe, Labron, Howard, Duncan, CP and then there a few others I'm not sure about (D-Wade, Amare, Nash, etc.) I'd rather have Roy than Dirk - I can tell you that. One guy is clutch and one isn't.

Oden will improve, and LA is already pretty darn good. But B-Roy might be an MVP candidate someday.

With Mo Lucas back, with days off, and now that he is talkin' to his old AAU coach and gettin' advice (that seems to help him a lot) I think we will see Greg progressing every game, whether his stats show it or not. And he has. He has really done well after his first 3? Games. I'm really proud of him, and just want him to have fun playing ball.

I was yelling at my bro telling him "Greg Oden showed emotion! DID YOU SEE THAT?!?!!?". I love him. We will go as far in the playoffs as the big man will take us. He is the wildcard. BRoy will show up eveyr night and do all he can, but playing a team like the Spurs in a 7 game series, we are going to need lots of players to step up. By then, I think we will see a much better Oden (He won't be 100% until next year.. and he will be able to work on his game this offseason rather than rehab... it will be awesome to watch him dominate next year but I am enjoying it now as well, and his progression).

Just because someone lives in a trailer park doesn't mean you need to stereotype (and no i don't live in a TP).

I was very impressed with the way he started the game despite the foul trouble. He really looked tough and confident for once. Before the fouls, I though he was going to go for 20 and 10 last night. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be doing it soon.

Also, it was nice to see how Blake was able to find him in both pick and roll situations for his dunks. If Greg's going to improve his scoring average, some of it will have to come in the form of better passes from the guards. Nate has to be working that into practices and game strategies.

Man you nailed it. Last night (and once or twice in the Clippers game) was the first time I saw a Blazers point guard run the pick n' roll with Greg effectively all year. My guess is that they have been working on that very thing in practice lately. If they can get him rolling through the lane throwing down 5 or 6 of thunder dunks a game and hopefully getting fouled in the process it's going to do wonders for his confidence and it's going to make this team a pure wrecking ball on the offensive end.

I'll keep on the thread as long as you avoid the 6th-grade potty mouth mentality. Your ridiculous use of vulgarity is a huge distraction, and completely unnecessary. Keep it to yourself next time.

AMEN. Thats why he fits so good with Humble Roy, and Cool Lamarcus.

As far as his abilities go. Quickness is there, strength is there, verticals through the roof, but none of that matters if you haven't developed the skill. Seriously give the guy a summer of hard training and the nay-sayers will vanish. You all waited a year for him to rehabilitate, can't you wait for him to hone some skills?!?!?

I was at the game last night and he grabbed a critical rebound in the last minute. Greg Oden is everything and then some, just wait.

    True Fan.

Using vulgarity is allowed on the board. Personal attacks are not.

Just so you remember that. Thanks.

The kind of in-your-face profanity that this guy uses is offensive, and should not be tolerated by the moderators or the members. How can we be expected to "respect" each other when one poster is showing so much disrespect to everyone by the foul language he uses?

After Roy's performance last night I think there is no doubt (there was little before) he will be selected to play in the all-star game. There aren't tom many rookie centers so I think it's likely Greg goes to All-Star weekend too for the Rookie-Sophomore game. At that point he should be playing fantastic and I hope he dominates in that game on national television.
