    i agree
i dont think kenyon martin would have had the numbers if the nets didn't have Kidd...i dont think i remember him making jump shots much...he just makes fast break dunks or putbacks.
well lamar hasn't fit in yet either tho...
    just 13.3 points...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">Lamar is a better scorer. Martin has never averaged more than 16 points a game for a whole season. lamar did 17 a game his second year. He hasnt had to score as much as he could having played on some relatively deep teams but hes a much more dependable go-to scorer than kenyon martin who can only really score on the break not at will like real stars. Martin gets intimidated in big games against big competition and just cant force out a score when his team needs it unless Kidd all but does it for him.

Lamar is more versatile. Even when he doesnt score he helps his team. Hes not as athletic as Martin but he still has a career average for rebounding and is a tripple double threat. Does Martin even know how to pass a basketball?? Odom knows how to make his teammates better by getting them open looks.</div>

well...that's the Nets gameplan right? to score on the break? why try to post up when the gameplan calls for a fastbreak? oh and if in case you don't know, K-Mart can post up...

K-Mart is a much better defender...and offensive player...this year, he's averaging 19 points plus 10 boards...he doesn't actually have to do much...since no one in the Nets avg. more than 20 points...coz they don't need to...Lamar may have scored 17ppg during his second year...but that is for a bad team...let's see how he'll do right now when he's one of the main men....that is...if he can stay healthy...

oh and i admit he broke down during the last games of the Finals...but he did pretty well on the avg. during that postseason...and come on...he was defending Tim Duncan who's on a roll during that time...even Shaq got schooled by TD...

and it is true that he's getting a lot of his points from Kidd...in the same way that Kidd is getting a lot of assists because of K-Mart...they complement one another...that's how it's supposed to be...and it's not that easy to free yourself from your defender to be able to catch a Kidd ally-oop...and talk about timing...K-Mart also does these follow-up dunks...with emphasis! and he has career avgs. of 1.40bpg...not bad for a 6'9 player...

Like I said earlier, I'm not a big fan of neither of these guys. Nonetheless, living in los angeles, I've seen a lot of clipper games and I can tell you Odom's versitility is very overratated. He's not a great passer, nor is he a great rebounder. It's true because of his size, you can match him up defensively at many positions, but bad defense at 5 positions is all the same.
And the whole big game thing, Odom has NEVER PLAYED A BIG GAME. You can't even cofidently say he's going to play a regular game because he's so fragile. He'll give 50 worthless games a season (if you're lucky). He goes to miami and now their the laughing stock of the league. He hasn't helped them a bit...

P.S. Odom has no off-hand whatsoever!!!!

well Zo averaged 3 + bpg and he's only 1 inch taller than K-mart. Anyways, Heat looking bad...one of the worst team now....I'm a big fan of the Heat. have been and am and will be but this i don't understand....I like Grant, Jones but i dont know why they had to pay them so much when they are just a little better above average players and they aren't even young...And odom, he better do good and stay healthy...i never thought of changing team but i dont know ...my love and suppoort for the team has been...fading away
    COME ON HEAT!!!!!

I just hope that Miami doesn't become shy about their contracts because of what has happened to them. Butler and Wade are going to be big-time players and when the time comes, they can demand a lot of money. Those guys are going to be worth keeping.

they let Zo go( or ZO left) and that's enough....
If they let go any of these rookies THEN im changing my fav team..cuz if they let go of the top prospect, they dont deserve to win a game.

Last night Odom had 21 points 11 rebounds and 6 assists..looks like he is starting to produce like the Heat had hoped when they signed him to the big 67 million deal.
