It is great to have guys that look like they actually want the rebound. It is demoralizing to have half-assed effort toward rebounds and it seems like we had that a lot last year.

Now, if they could get Meyers to go after boards like that we'd be in business.

I can't fucking find who posted the bench being good that players aren't playing out of position; so in going to post a response here.

Maybe the dismal rebounding and terrible defense had more to do with too many roles for one player; confusing their assignments? I think we are going to have a vastly improved defense this season!

    Asik/Howard together?

    That's not going to work.

Asik, if not dunking, is the worst finisher in the game for a big.

    Howard has no post-game.

He'll be dealt, but I don't think they're in a rush to give him away. They'll wait until the right deal comes along. Daryl Morey ain't no fool!

Watching the Cavs vs Sixers right now. Royce White had about 3 nice plays in a row......then got kicked out for talking shit to the Cavs bench. #Nutjob

Yeah, there are about 26 teams that Asik would be the starting center start for. They will have their pick of suitors.

Sucks to think we drafted this guy.

@NBAGuru: Fun Fact: NBA's average height last year (6.5.98") was the lowest its ever been since the league started official tracking back in '85-86.

In the early 90s (and probably late 80s - I didn't care about basketball then) there was a league that had a height limit - so you couldn't be taller than about 6'5". Anyone remember this? That would be so awesome for people like Chuck Hayes. Maybe the NBA is slowly becoming that league.

Lots of ways to interrupt that. Less 7 footers? more short quick PG's due to the new rules, shorter SG's for the same reason? Lot of potential possibilities. But I like it. In general shorter guys have more skills. Never a fan of guys making the NBA just because of their height.

I wouldn't have guessed that. Forwards are much taller in today's game, but like Pinwheel said, there are few true 7'ers now and even fewer of the 7'7" freaks. Plus, so many guards are combo guards, that the back court average may be brought down a bit.

Hes played @ Cle, @ Cha, and @ Bos thus far this preseason. I believe part of the reason Philly was interested was because they have among the least travel of all the NBA teams, and probably among the most bus trips, as opposed to trips that require flight.

2 points and 2 rebounds in 1 minute so far.

Per 36, that's 72 pts and 72 rebs per game. Shouldve signed him to an extension.
