<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Never, Bonzi Wells is overpaid, He averaged 11 ppg and like 8 million, we already have Wesley for half the price and we dont need the pick because we arent picking anyone special and our pointguards are all not going to be dishing out assists, to me its a bad bad bad trade.</div> Sure, Bonzi Wells and David Wesley averaged about the same points per game. However, take a look at the minutes per game and you'll see why. Fratello didn't let Wells play much for some reason which is the big reason why his points per game were so low. Looking back at it, Wells seems like a really effective player since he averaged around 11 points in only twenty five minutes. Thats compared to Wesley's thirty five by the way. So if given the chance, Wells might just shine and be the third option on this team that Houston needs. Besides, with the pick, we might be able to snag Ike Diogu from the draft without any risk of him going off the board before we can pick him. Or, we can even trade the pick for a legit powerforward thats already in the league- such as PJ Brown.

I don't get the bench press part. Does it mean how many times they can do it? If thats so, then whats the weight? Anyways, interesting results. If you just look at those results, I would take Turiaf over Simien. He's physically stronger, which is something we need in a powerforward, can jump higher, while speed isn't much different. Just by that, I think his stock has risen up a tad after the predraft workout.
aznxballer, yeah they had to see how many reps of 185 pounds they could do...the number listed under the bench press is how many reps they were able to do...
Compare Turiaf's 3/4 court sprint to guards like Chris Paul, Jarrett Jack and Deron Williams. It really intrigues me to see how fast this guy is running down the court; definitely going to be a lethal finisher on the break.
Simien looks to have given a dissapointing performance. He looked weak and had no hops. Already lacking hieght, he might not rebound or defend low. diogu dropped his stock a bit, maybe he will fall to us. Jarret Jack was very dissapointing. If we trade into the second round, david lee is a guy to look at. Turiaf is a good option right now. I know he has attitude problems, but what do you guys think of getting villanueva?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bplld:</div><div class="quote_post">I know he has attitude problems, but what do you guys think of getting villanueva?</div> If hes available we should pick him. But I really dont think hes gonna drop to us. Hes a top 15 pick.
Workout Update June 20- Marcin Gortat l C l 7-0 l Germany l Second Round Bubble June 20- Rory O'Neil l PF l 6-11 l USC l Undrafted Yup, we're definitely going to trade down it looks like.
^^ Yeah, it is definite now that the rockets are heading to the second round. I would like to see them get a center. With deke only having one to two years left in him, better safe than sorry. whatever trade they do, it better fill in all the holes on this team.
Boooo. I wonder who we're trading with to get that second round pick. I won't be too high on drafting an Eurobig. American college players would be more NBA-ready and with the European guys lie the possibility that they would have to stay overseas for a couple years, which won't be good news considering we need immediate help. We might not necessarily be trading our 24th pick down for second rounders. Could be trading our trade exception for a pick to someone who doesn't want to commit on rookies or trading an expiring contract to get the pick. We should hold on to the first rounder.

Too bad so far everyone that Houston's worked out are bubble second rounders.
Yeah, I guess I'm in denial. This is our first first round pick in three years and I just can't stand seeing it being traded again. Still is an outside chance that we're not working any of those out because we have seen enough of the Simiens and Diogus in combines and draft camps. I doubt it's that likely though...

I would assume the Rockets are going to trade a Trade Exception, becuase as of right now, not many players would sign for that little money and the Rockets really don't need them. To say that they would be trading down is not such a bad thing, the Rockets could get a later First Rounder and a Second Rounder. Or, the Rockets could get multiple Second Rounders, and a First Round pick later on. Whatever happens, I do trust the Front Office not to do anything stupid.
I really hope that we don't trade our first round pick. I am getting pretty upset about Houston blowing it on draft day. Granted if Eddie Griffen would have kept his head on straight he could have been a decent contributor so I don't hold that against the front office but with this team being as old as it is we need some youth that is ready to play now. All we will get in the 2nd round will be a bench contributor who we will have to wait on to develop while t-mac and yao are in there prime. I really wanna trust the Rockets front office but I see trading the 1st rounder a bone headed move.
