Jerry must really see something in our young WR's, but out of Crayton, Hurd, Austin, and Stanback, I don't see a distinct number 2

The only thing I can say is that it must have been BPA. I do like Bennett as a TE....that's not the problem.

I am just confused as to why WE needed another TE in the 2nd round.

It gives another weapon to Romo, I guess....

Yeah those are my feelings. After looking at some footage of him he looks like a good prospect...

...but did we need a second TE? I mean, didn't we just trade away a 2nd round prospect for a 4th rounder?

FWIW, Jason Garrett was really happy with the Bennett pick. I suppose adding another young target is never a bad thing. Also, FWIW, Jerry said they didn't feel any WRs there were worth taking either...

Pretty happy with the Packers' first day, all things considered...

I predict that Ted Thompson will trade down at least one more time and land a sixth round pick somewhere along the way. I don't think he's ever sat out an entire round before. [IMG]

Aaron Rodgers is probably taking the battery out of his cell phone and looking for some Ambien right about now.

Willis McGahee and Ray Rice, that sounds like a great duo.

This entire draft for the Titans has been a pain: Doucet was just picked 4 picks ahead of us.

Instead of this bullshit, ESPN should just talk slowly about each player selected. They have all the time in the world.

The LAST thing I want is 20 talking heads talking about the "big stories" of the draft. It blows.

Is the NFL Network doing any better?

Is anybody watching the Pittsburgh Steelers?

While so many teams are trading back and forth, the Steelers quietly laid in the weeds today and landed Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall and Texas receiver Limas Sweed.

    Uh oh.

Running back and receiver weren't necessarily needs for the Steelers, but the talent of these two players were too good to resist. Both received first-round grades in most projections, and Pittsburgh landed them with the No. 23 and No. 53 overall picks.

The Steelers still need offensive linemen, particularly at tackle. They continued their trend of skipping linemen in the first and second rounds for the sixth straight year. Look for them to make a run at linemen tomorrow.

But Pittsburgh's offense should be even more dangerous next season with this pair. Mendenhall will back up tailback Willie Parker and both will have opportunities to wear down the defense, while Sweed is the big-body third receiver the Steelers are looking for.</div>

The Steelers went for BPA and ignored need.

I like that strategy, but it means they have a lot of work to do to get the OL line holes filled. OL is not something you want to screw around with. You want the best players you can possibly get for your system and they are hard to find.

Damn the Lions, taking Avril just one pick ahead.

Indy's LBs usually have various injuries throughout the year, so the depth isn't that bad.

My little rant for today. : O
