Would Olshey really draft someone he never worked out/interviewed? He seems like the type of guy that that fixates on a player and does everything he can to get him.

I mean obviously something could have happened between closed doors but that seems unlikely. Even Len's visit was eventually leaked.

I dunno, I'm hoping for Shabazz but I just can't see it.

Possible, but last year it was pretty obvious Lillard was the guy.

I might have over-valued Muhammad, under-valued Adams in my mock draft. But Shabazz impressed me at pre-draft workout with the Jazz.

Shabazz is an interesting player in this draft, all the experts\prognosticators say his stock is dropping....however...all the reports from his workouts have been good (like above)...Something has to give.....

oh, and he interviewed with the Blazers at the combine.....

I would not hate drafting Shabazz. His slide reminds me a bit of Paul Pierce in 98. Dude was supposed to go top five but slid to 10th.

So is Otto Porter at #3 the closest thing we have to a lock in the top 5?

I've heard some people mention Bennett, but the consensus seems to continue to be Porter... anyone have any info that'd challenge that?

Also, why the hell did the Detroit Titans wind up in the NIT last year, if Ray McCallum, Nick Minnerath, and Doug Anderson are all potential second round prospects?

Maybe Ray Jr.'s dad deserves to be ousted...

Just did a mock on nbadraft.net, and it occurred to me how many potentially great role players could go undrafted -

    Seth Curry
    Trevor Mbakwe
    Brandon Paul
    Khalif Wyatt
    Phil Pressey
    Arsalan Kazemi
    B.J. Young
    Christian Watford

There are more players that I think could crack a roster (Brandon Davies, Elias Harris, D.J. Cooper, Matthew Dellavedova, Rotnei Clarke, Alex Oriakhi, Rodney Williams, Peyton Siva, Jack Cooley, etc.), but those eight guys, in particular, should definitely be afforded roster spots with their skillsets.

This might be one of the most iffy drafts in recent memory at the top, but the second round is deep... full of potentially great role players, to the point where that list could go 0-8 on draft night, yet I could still see any of those eight guys being contributors on an NBA roster.

This is really one draft where if I were picking in the second round, I'd think twice about Euro-stashing.

One thing everyone in lottery says: No one's readiness for NBA has impressed them more than the IU players - Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller.

What I know this morning: 1. Cavs 1st option is to trade the pick. Looking for a young veteran + a 2014 lottery pick in return

    Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 4m
What I know this morning: 2. If the Cavs use the No. 1 pick, don't assume they keep it. Will continue to shop it after the draft.

    Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 3m
What I know this morning: 3. Hardest asset to get rt now is a '14 lottery pick. Odds at 95% that NO team gives up one. 14 Draft too strong

    Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 1m
What I know this morning: 4. Looks like the Jazz, Wolves & Thunder most active in trying to move up higher in the lottery ...

It's between Alex Len and Ben McLemore, I'm hearing. I'm gonna go with McLemore. Which of course means the Cavs will take Nerlens Noel.

    Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO 2m
But Cavs don't view Noel's injury like Kyrie Irving's entering draft, source says. Sounds like Noel's ACL will keep him from going first.

    Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO 1m
Cavs GM Chris Grant big analytics guy. If you're using analytics, Ben McLemore is your guy. So that's my final (wild guess) answer.

I wish I had the time and energy to start a thread of just the draft player discrepancies alone. "He's going to be #1" vs "He's going to fall out of the top ten" This draft would be fun to the huge range of differences.

Milwaukee has discussed switching draft spots (15 for 13) with Dallas to solidify itself to take Russian Sergey Karasev, sources tell Y!

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 35s
Nevertheless, Dallas has multiple suitors for the 13th pick and expect offers to get better in hours before draft tonight.

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 23s
Concern for Bucks, though: Do they need to get higher than 13 for Karasev?

You know, no matter how weak or star-less they say this draft is it never ceases to amaze me what that last minute desperation to do "something' will do to a team or GM's perspective.

Celtics trying to pick up another late 1st or early 2nd. Target, I'm hearing, is Missouri PG Phil Pressey. Celts leaning going big at 16.

Some are shying away from North Texas forward Tony Mitchell, but he could find a landing spot w/ Minnesota at No. 26, league sources tell Y!

Celtics like Steven Adams (if he falls) and Kelly Olynyk (if he falls) at 16. Also considering Shane Larkin there.

Flip Saunders worked out Mitchell on his visit to Minnesota and left impressed, sources tell Y! Make no mistake: He has high-lottery gifts.

When asking sources, only hearing Cavs want to trade No. 1 pick. May be forced to lower demands today if that's what they ultimately decide.
