    I love reading all this draft info. This is my favorite time of year.......BUUUUUUUUUUUT.................. you guys realize we are only winning 30 games next season. So can we please start getting ready for next years, what some are calling the best draft in 20 years!!!!!

    So since we don't give Charlotte our pick this season; we are forced to give up our pick next season right?

    NBA GM on Indiana G Victor Oladipo: "Great D. But lots of guys in this draft will average 8 or 9 points for their career. He'a one of them."

    GM also talked about Cavs & No. 1 pick: "These are the type of drafts that make GMs geniuses or get them fired. I wouldn't want first pick."

    He could be right, but I think someone wants him to drop.

    Whispers around the lague:

    Cavs sources say they are still a couple weeks away from making up their minds. Still haven't gotten all the answers they need on the medical either. That's a big one. If they get uncomfortable with the medical, Porter could be the guy. Obviously, they could also trade this pick -- however the interest isn't particularly high. ESPN.com

    * * *

    Might former Kentucky center Nerlens Noel still be available when the Charlotte Bobcats pick fourth on June 27?
    A player-personnel executive connected to a lottery team thinks that’s a real possibility, despite Noel often being listed as the first or second pick in various mock drafts.This executive, speaking on condition of anonymity because he’s not authorized to give pre-draft interviews, predicts the first three picks will be some order of Nevada-Las Vegas forward Anthony Bennett, Kansas shooting guard Ben McLemore and Georgetown forward Otto Porter, Jr.

    * * *

    There are a handful of teams that believe Saric is a top five talent in the draft. I believe the Pelicans are one of them. So, yes, if the guys they have ranked ahead of him are all gone, I do think they'd take him at 6. However, they could probably trade down to a pick like 9 or 10, pick up an asset and still get him. The scouts that REALLY know Europe say that there's not a huge difference between Saric and Otto Porter. ESPN.com

    BUT:

    All indications are that Croation small forward Dario Saric will withdraw from the draft before the June 17 deadline for international players. While his agent, Robert Jablan, told BourbonStreetShots.com that the decision has been made, some teams are understandably wondering if this is an attempt to secure a promise. After all, Saric previously went from signaling he would stay in Europe to applying for the draft and now has turned around again about five weeks later despite no change in his standing with his stock still somewhere around the teens. One executive said chances are “about 99.9” Saric will jump out of the pool, meaning the NBA is not yet closing the door on 2013. Another said “It sure sounds like it,” when asked whether Saric is staying in Croatia. They’re waiting for 100 percent by June 17. NBA.com

    I'll consider that, considering the "expert" source of that advice

    This draft reminds me of 1989 and Noel is Pervis Ellison. The key is to look for the Hardaways (the original, not Jr.), the Divacs and the Cliff Robinsons in the second round. Looking at the '89 draft class again, it is unbelievable Robinson dropped that far.

    It's funny that Hardaway and Rice were both in that draft, their kids both in this one.

    I get the feeling when they look back on this draft its not going to be as bad as some think and will in fact have a lot really good solid players or role players. And I agree this draft has all the making of that surprise 2nd round star.

    Agreed. Don't see any better choices. If we're not gonna trade the pick away, I'd fully support CZ @ 10. He's better than Leonard.

    From what I have read, its not a bad draft. The top 3-5 picks are bad, because they don't really haven a clear cut all-star potential guy.

    Yeah that's the issue. What team wants to pay the high lotto price for a role playing type? The 3 mil per is a high number with 28% raise per.

    My thought too. It seems like drafts are 'bad' if the top two picks aren't franchise players like Lebron or Durant. Since the Blazers don't have a top three pick, and are probably not going to trade for one, I don't give a shit if it's a 'bad' draft, and neither should the other 27 teams. The Blazers can add a decent player if they do their jobs right.
