Seems way high for Zach (for me). I'd think Jackson would go 3rd. John Collins and Bam Adebayo would probably go ahead of Zach. OG Anunoby too. And Laker that he is, Lonzo has been pretty darn good overall, and I don't see how he gets left out of the top 10.

Personally, I think Zach's still got a ways to go to be considered one of the top ten players in this draft.

Why would Zach’s value have taken a hit? He’s a significant contributor on a top five team. Not many rookies can say that. He’s also a big, and those will always be the most valued, especially one that fits the modern game as much as he does.

    Guess not

↑ after the Collins pick... hm ?

The Collins pick wasn't very appreciated on this thread:

    The 3rd seed purgatory !

But the were also (not many, but still) Collins defenders !

I'm just saying that other rookies have arguably shown a lot more this season than Zach has. Their value increasing didn't necessarily mean his is lower.

The fact that he's filling a void on a good team doesn't necessarily mean that he's any better than players at his position on lesser teams. That's why I'd list Markkanen, Adebayo, J. Collins, and perhaps Jarrett Allen as frontcourt rookies I'd put ahead of Zach just based on what they've shown this year, in addition to Tatum, Jackson, Kuzma, and Anunoby. And that's just looking at forwards and centers.

A lot of them are putting up better surface stats, but how many of them would be given the same green light on a good team? How many of them are actually efficient? If you gave Zach the minutes and shots those guys are getting he’d put up some cute stats too.

For the record I made the lavar ball joke. I didn’t think much of Collins when we drafted him but I also didn’t think he was a bust. I wanted to give him a chance even after his terrible summer league. I just wasn’t sure.

Its just funny seeing how many people hated the pick when they didnt have any idea who Collins was as a player. White big man stigma. Smh.
