I guess the Grizzlies and Kings aren't the best at judging young talent so he could still have some potential. I just don't like the way he plays, granted that has been mostly summer league though. If we did the trade I mentioned in the Jimmy Butler thread it would make sense to bring Deyonta in I guess.

After SL last year I thought he might start over vonleh by mid-season or so, not to start the year though. I was wrong on so many things...

Just getting to know you here, but you seem smart enough not to take ANYTHING from summer league.

Yeah, I know. I really dont take SL as a barometer of much. I just thought well he rebounded very well in College, and seemed like in SL he looked very similar to how he looked in College. I thought it would translate well. I didnt realize just how slow footed he seemed to be until I saw him in a couple NBA games.

Speaking of Simons did anyone catch CJ's nickname for him during media day? "Baby Faced Assassin" haha

Terry Stotts said he took out a set that he installed day 1 year 1 with the Blazers. Said the set had run its course. Anyone have an idea what set that could be that stalled out last year in particular? Horns? haha

Yeah CJ sounded pretty high on him. Good to hear.

I think he's going to be hard to keep on the bench, but I expect Seth to be good enough to keep him there.

He'll have a good opportunity to play a sizable role next year though.

Hopefully the one where they run around the perimeter doing dribble hand offs for the first 15 seconds and calling it player / ball movement...

I'm super excited about Meyers potential this season! What are the odds that someone would say he has made big strides again, only to see him struggle to show any of it 9 years in a row? (exaggerated on purpose) Since nobody will take him we have to hope he becomes serviceable at least at the defensive end.

Jake Layman actually has some potential that people have actually seen live on a court. He will be fun to watch if he shows half of what he did during summer league. (I know it's summer league!) I really think he is or could be a good shooter in an actual game. Internal growth!

The rooks have no fear....that is all. It's too early to judge them yet. I like what I see so far.

I can not believe we have a game this Saturday!!
