He would have trusted Department of Justice to deal fairly with his son. Equally bad ideas? Affordable healthcare for all v healthcare for those that can afford it. Finding ways to try to mitigate gun violence v a gun for everyone including the criminals. Acceptance and a level playing field for anyone regardless of race, gender, religion, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation v "trans people are messing up your life by getting two sex changes in prison and playing sports in a handful of places." Making it easier for ALL Americans to avail themselves the right to vote v finding all kinds of arcane ways to make it harder for people to vote outside of districts where they hold the majority. Working for a living wage v continuing to give the top of the food chain of affluence tax breaks and creating a bigger and bigger wealth gap. Taking climate change seriously v arguing about whether or not it's man-made or not so as not to do anything. Honoring our alliances and allies all over the world v selling out the Kurds in Syria, the Afghans to the Taliban and Ukraine and U.S. security interests to Vlad Putin. Working to take any steps we could during the pandemic to save American lives v masking to mitigate makes you a wuss and vaccinations cause autism and mind-control. Giving women agency over their own bodies v "Even though we could do dozens of things that would draw bipartisan support in decreasing the already diminishing number of abortions, we want to force women to do one of the least efficient under the pretext of purely religious reasons." Being able to get a quality education regardless of social status without any kind of social purity test v ending the Department of Education so we can turn public schools into a breeding ground for a Christian evangelical version of the Taliban. The last four Republican presidents brought about recessions. The last three left office with economic turmoil that was cleaned up by Democratic presidents. The last three Democratic presidents left Republican successors with strong economies. Biden passed much-needed infrastructure legislation that Trump promised and didn't deliver and capped insulin costs that Trump "suggested" the pharma companies do. George Washington was on the political left. Abraham Lincoln was on the political left. Teddy Roosevelt was on the left. FDR was on the left. Eisenhower was on the left. Leftists gave us a country, ended slavery, established the national parks, got children out of the workplace, gave women the right to vote, ended the Great Depression, won WWII, passed Social Security and Medicare, provided tens of millions of Americans with affordable healthcare, practically ended COVID and oversaw the greatest economic recovery in the world following the pandemic. Yeah, so I'm basically saying your political takes are ignorant and bizarre. Oh, and you look foolish peddling your bumper sticker rhetoric in a forum with intelligent and informed people.
I also find it rich that JohnnyInternet says Republicans are open about their warts while Democrats gaslight followers with all the examples we've had over the last few decade of closet homosexual GOP legislators that voted against LGBTQ causes while engaging in LGBTQ relationships themselves and sometimes getting caught exploiting or abusing their partners because they could. We also have all the Pizza-gaters that turned out to be involved with Jeffrey Epstein, or other cases of human trafficking or the corruption of minors and, when they were discovered, found cover in their Republican allies.
