You make it sound like getting repeatedly suspended for conduct detrimental to the team is a good thing.

Yeah, SAC is a fucked up organization, but so is NOP. Yet, we haven't seen Anthony Davis getting suspended, getting coaches fired (he was actually upset when Monty Williams was let go) and throwing his teammates under the bus.

DeMarcus Cousins is a 26-year old grown man who has played 6 seasons in the NBA, but still behaves like a petulant child. He isn't a victim in SAC, he's a big part of the problem.

Would a change of scenery do him good, possibly? Do you want to risk everything on a guy who has openly feuded with multiple coaches and thrown his teammates under the bus after losses? The guy has talent, but he's mentally weak. He doesn't handle adversity well and lashes out at coaches, teammates, referees and opponents. He's a ticking time bomb that goes off at the first sign of trouble. We have no idea how he'd handle the pressure of the post season, he's never been there. At least in his one trip to the post season, Anthony Davis played like a complete stud.

I'd still take Davis over Cousins in a heartbeat. They both come with risk, but I'll take Davis and his nagging injuries (he's never missed more than 21 games in a season) over Cousins and his chemistry destroying attitude.

I don't put much into that
sheed had all sorts of "attitude" issues and I loved him, and after he got a change of scenery he got a ring.
but maybe my liking a guy like sheed is why I like DMC more than others.

but also, again, a guy with nagging injuries, in Portland, historically hasn't gone well...

I see that Leon Wood still sucks ass.

I bet we could hire Rice to whack him and it wouldn't even cost that much.

The guy who led us to our one and only championship had a injury history much worse than Anthony Davis.

Davis has never had any of the serious, career threatening injuries that Bowie or Oden had. Those guys both missed entire seasons early in their career. As I said, Davis has never missed more than 21 games. In spite of all his nagging injuries, he's averaged 67 games per year over his first 4 seasons.

He's a true 2-way player, a stud at both ends, and what what we need most. Plus, at only 23, he extends our window. He can play both the 4 and 5. So, we can go big (imagine how much our interior defense would be with Davis at the 4 and Ezeli at the 5 and add Hark or Aminu at the 3) or go small with Davis at the 5, Aminu at the 4 and Crabbe at the 3.

Of course, we would have to give up something to get him, but again that was the whole point of retaining all our guys, to give us the depth to make a consolidation trade and still be able to field team with quality starters at all 5 positions.

In terms of getting 2-way players and extending our window, I'd love to see Davis paired with Vonleh (assuming Vonleh continues to show improvement the way he has been). Voonleh, at 20, proved he can guard staring power forwards. Now, he needs to prove he can score on them, but is making good progress on his offensive game and is still only 21. The problem is, I'm sure NOP would want Vonleh as part of a package to get Davis - unless we offered a package built around C.J. instead.

So, that begs the question, would Olshey be willing to give up C.J. to get Davis? The more I think about it, the more I'd do it. I love C.J. but Davis replaces his scoring and gives up the kind of defense we sorely lack. And, he's younger than C.J. I assume we'd still have at least one of Turner or Crabbe to start at SG.

Watching this ESPN game and they are talking about the Kings new arena. They end up showing the robot security officers that the arena has which sparks a few thoughts. A. That robot isn't stopping anyone from committing a crime. B. Last thing we need is robot security which is capable of stopping a crime.

ooooh Pulling out the classics. Totally forgot about that one! Still get shivers thinking of Yul Brenner walking so steadily and steadfast. Man that was scary for some reason. Just his intense and determined look, ya know?
