Westbrook on a revenge mode tomorrow just like Simmons and KD. Hope Dame and company are ready to weather the storm.

Geez, I hope so. Westbrook going all HAM is the best way I can think of to guarantee a Blazers win.

Ok, you keep including Chief (and other people :offtopic:) into this argument (FOCUS... We're talking about Blake...), Chief is always healthy and exceeding his regular season play during the playoffs... Facts.

He's never missed a playoff game for us and he always shows up...

    Now... Focus... :smiley-cool:

Blake in his last 5 seasons averaged 59 games per...

    296 of a possible 410 games.

One season he played 35 games...

    35...

    Now it's really simple...

Answer the question without pushing your narrative.

He's been hurt 5 years straight yes or no?

    And really quick tho...

Where was Blake when his Clippers lost in the playoffs to the Blazers?

White went nuts tonight for the Spurs. 36 points with only one 3-pt make. Playing Westbrook could help the Blazers get ready for him. A slasher who attacks the rim and is not a very good outside shooter.

Yeah, one of the biggest differences between Westbrook and Dame is that Westbrook takes everything personally and loses focus. He thinks about the 1-on-1 challenge and forgets the team goals.

The angrier he plays, the better for the Blazers.

Timing is coincidental, IMO, and the past 4 years are more important than the years before it.

You ask a question that's vague and not accurately illustrative, ignores the counterpoint, and do it in order to push your narrative, and then insist on me answering it without "pushing my narrative".

This team will need to take a chance on a guy with that type of talent in order to contend. His contract/injury history means we could possibly give up expirings and a pick or two. If he stays healthy (definitely possible since he's averaged around 65 games a year the past 4 years), then we have a 25/7/5 guy at the PF spot who can space the floor and handle the ball. If not, we're stuck with a bad contract for a couple years, but don't lose talent outside of late first round picks. I'm not sure we'll miss on any star free agents since we have to overpay Evan Turner type of players in order to land anyone, so it the lack of ability to do that such a bad thing?

Juries still out on White's shooting. He's a career 36.1% 3pt shooter on 155 attempts. He's a guy who can hit a few if he gets hot.

Every shot he takes that isn’t a layup is a win for the Blazers.

You need three legitimate all-stars, or two all-stars and two-borderline all-stars, or a top 3 player with a couple borderline all-stars in order to win a championship.

We have 1 legitimate all-star and 2 borderline all-stars (one of which has a broken leg). We need another legitimate star.

    We disagree here too.

I'll admit you're better at this than me but you think one or two of Meyers, Harkless, or Turner and a pick or two will get us Blake Griffin without:

    Giving up Zach?
    Giving up Ant?

    Yeah I don't think so...

I think one legitimate top five player, surrounded by three shooters (all of whom are solid defenders and one of which can handle) and a rebounder/rim protector also can work.

    All of this is true.

What is also true is that said stars must be healthy the entire playoffs and finals...

Quite possibly, if the Pistons want to blow things up and other teams have your mindset towards him. A lot of good teams have moved their assets already and won't have the expirings, picks, and/or role for Griffin even if they wanted him (Philadelphia, Toronto, Houston, OKC, Golden State) or they're waiting for AD and wouldn't trade their young assets for anything less (Boston, LAL).

    So you'd have:
Denver - But they probably like Millsap enough to stick with him without giving up assets for a position they don't need to upgrade.
Utah - Probably our main contender but they need a PG as much as they need a PF. They also don't have a Collins or Simons they'd want to trade so no edge there.
San Antonio - Weird fit with Aldridge, they don't really have the ending contracts.
Pacers - Probably the other contender - Can clear cap space next summer and Sabonis and something else for Griffin could work. Griffin would work well with Turner. But they may not want to do that.

There's not a lot of suitors and those that could be might share your mindset. So I think it's possible to get him for expirings and picks but...

Blake Griffin would have a better chance of helping us win a championship than Zach Collins would.

Meh, I'm not going to think it's pre-determined that someone who's played in almost 80% of his teams games the past 4 years is going to be injured every playoffs because of coincidentally poor timing.

I wanna see some small ball for a couple min, throw Dame/CJ/Curry out there with Kanter/Collins. That would be fun to watch.

    Stop leaving out years.

In the last 5 years he's played in a hair over 70%.

And again in those 5 years there was a season where he only played 35 games.

It's would be a waste of assets, salary, and picks for an injury prone "star". One who plays no defense and never has...

There are too many reasons to say no and folks are getting desperate.

Yup, @crandc and I, we're taking over... you won't really know what happened but soon we'll be having lively discussions on the forum about putting the toilet seat down and how to locate the right Tupperware lid without asking your spouse, etc. The best part is you're going to think you're the one who came up with the thread ideas. :smiley-alexis:
