Charles is doing a poor job of saying analytics alone don't win championships... That it takes talent.
If one takes LBJ/Duncan/KG/Gasol off of the past championship teams... And replaces those players with an average player who has great analytic stats... Those teams don't win championships. They're competitive, but they just don't win it all. Talent > analytics.

A lot of people thought Harden was very good in OKC... But he "failed in the playoffs". He still hasn't shed that stigma. Maybe he will this year... Maybe he won't... We'll just have to wait for the playoffs to start.
But honestly the Rockets remind me of the what.. 09 Blazer team that faced the Rockets in the first round? When it was Brandon Roy vs The Rockets.
In the playoffs it's looking like it will be James Harden vs everyone else.
Sure people will have good games and help. But when it comes down to it.. Just like with Roy... If Harden isn't scoring... The team is going to lose.

One can question a lot of the moves Morey has made honestly.... Minus Harden/Howard. But one doesn't need analytics to know those two players will make your team better... When the previous year you were missing the playoffs/barely beating the Jazz out for a spot.
Harden is having a great season offensively..
However in the playoffs what happens when people decide to double team Harden late in games and live with the results?
    Terry isn't the same jet.
Smith/Brewer aren't great 3 point shooters. In fact they're what... career 20% from deep?
Sure Brewer is getting better looks, and shooting 32% from deep. But he's still 37 for 114 and a career 29% 3 point shooter... Not sure about anyone else but I'd rather Brewer shoot the 3 than Harden... Or even be a playmaker as with the Rockets he has 32 turnovers to 50 assists? Pretty terrible ratio for a guy who is all about defense and not playmaking.
Smith is shooting better with the Rockets at 37% 24-65... But he's a career 28% 3 point shooter.... That's not really someone to be feared.
Highly doubt he'll stay around 40% better shots playing with Harden or not.
Really have to question if Brewer/Smith are really better than Lin/Asik.
One could argue the Rockets gave up depth for defense and expect Harden to do it all offensively.
    Harden isn't Iverson.

How I have always remembered it is then means you're "adding to" (I.E. I'm going to the store and then the bank), and than is comparing between two things. (I love the Blazers more than you).

(That assertion is a not a statement of fact.)

Davis out for the ASG. Thompson and Harden named starters for Blake and Kobe. Think LMA gets the nod for AD's spot?

He's also a defensive liability, and off our bench, we can't have that happening since some nights our bench can't score to maintain or come back.
