Curious why people bring up payroll? Who cares. I want to win. Wonder if Blazer fans brought payroll in the late 90s, early 2000s?

on paper, they should be a lot better than they are. So, either an organizational failure or a failure of chemistry. Balmer seems to have a Whitsitt gene: screw the cost and just add as much talent as possible without a care of if the talent fits together. To this point, the talent hasn't fit together

one thing I'd wonder about: Dame, Kawhi, and PG13 are all about the same age. Dame is the best he's ever been right now; Kawhi and PG13 are not. That may be the impact of the accumulated injuries both Kawhi and PG13 have had over the years

c'mon man....are you really ignorant of the reasons for that?

the CBA's have changed dramatically over the years:

    upload_2023-3-3_8-52-33.png

1999 was a sea change year.

Bob Whitsitt was hired as the GM when there were no maximum salaries and no salary caps. Paul Allen was willing to spend then even more than Steve Ballmer is willing to spend now (with the same results apparently). It doesn't show on that chart but the Apron and Hard Cap provisions showed up a few years after 1999, IIRC. Also, IIRC, there didn't use to be strict rules on salary matching in trades. Whitsitt was able to assemble that Pippen Blazer team without any of the heavy restrictions current GM's and owners operate under.

in other words, the NBA isn't the same now as it was in the 90's. It has evolved meaning the concerns of fans have evolved. NBA fan's in the 70's didn't worry about 3 point shooting either

Okay I'll bite. Because i know you won't get a crappy about it.
Does Billups brand of basketball work better with the Clippers roster. I say hell yeah it does.
I also feel Stotts would have that rodter in the WCF's in a heartbeat.
So that tells me Ty Lue for all his praises might not be the best coach for that roster? Chemistry partially falls on the coach as much as rotations and scheme. Part of coaching and the coaching staffs job is to hold the ship together.
Now my real question. Is or should Ty Lue be on the hot seat at this point? My opinion on that is this year yes he absolutely should be.

yeah, I don't really know or care about how much Lue is responsible. Coaching is part of the chemistry I was referring to so sure....fire Lue. Unemployment is a real crucible for multi-millionaires.

If the Clippers flame out of the playoffs, would Paul George be available in the offseason and what would it take to get him?

I’d give both picks and Ant for him and maybe RoCo.

    Dame/PG13/Thybulle/Grant/Nurk

bench: cam, roco, twat, arci, drew, sharpe

He's quick to remind everyone about the dash "T-Wat" but it doesn't matter because it's seems like it's still twat.

Knicks win their 8th in a row in dramatic fashion in Miami.
After looking exhausted, losing the handle on the ball twice ("stumbling and bumbling" said Walt Frazier) , Julius Randle threw up what looked to be a desperation shot, which went in.
Miami had 1.1 left on the clock, but Kevin Love's inbound pass was intercepted by Mitchell Robinson and the Heat never got a shot off.
