Four second round draft picks from 2019 to 2023 have already been traded. I personally think we will likely have to ride out the expiring contracts in Meyers, ET, and Hark. It would be nice to trade them for something more useful.

about Turner and if he's too valuable to cut after the deadline; this last season:

    regular season winshare/48:

.216 Damian Lillard .205 Enes Kanter .196 Jusuf Nurkic .189 Meyers Leonard .164 Al-Farouq Aminu .121 Maurice Harkless .114 CJ McCollum .114 Jake Layman .111 Zach Collins .104 Seth Curry .082 Rodney Hood .077 Evan Turner .060

    regular season box plus/minus:

Damian Lillard 5.5 Jusuf Nurkic 5.1 Enes Kanter 2.3 Maurice Harkless 2.2 Meyers Leonard 1.4 Al-Farouq Aminu 0.9 CJ McCollum 0.3 Zach Collins 0.1 Jake Layman -0.3 Seth Curry -1.3 Rodney Hood -1.7 Evan Turner -1.8

    playoff winshare/48:

Meyers Leonard .154 Damian Lillard .119 Rodney Hood .117 Enes Kanter .109 Maurice Harkless .098 Zach Collins .090 CJ McCollum .079 Al-Farouq Aminu .052 Seth Curry .044 Evan Turner .035

    playoff box plus/minus:

Damian Lillard 4.8 Maurice Harkless 3.1 Zach Collins 2.2 Meyers Leonard 1.8 CJ McCollum 1.2 Rodney Hood 0.4 Enes Kanter 0.3 Al-Farouq Aminu 0.0 Seth Curry -0.2 Evan Turner -2.0

I guess he's consistent in that at least you know where to find his name in any team rankings...start at the bottom

We essentially have our 2020 2nd round pick though, if it's between 31-55. Therefore, it's probably tradeable as an asset, even if it's not worth much.

So with this logic portland doesn't really need a third option.

    Flawed logic bones. Sorry.

    Uh... really?

Thats not even the point of that post at all but...

Portland doesnt even have 2 stars.

Portland wouldn't be a superteam if they added a star.

I don't think you are getting the premise. Portland has two stars borderline three. Star isnt all star. Cj is a star nurk is borderline

The pojnt is the sun of parts is mire than the individuals. If we add a guy like an all star that plays team ball it could and more than likely would elevate the team.

So your premise is if we added ad ourratings would jump.

I disagree and see flaws in your logic.

If they went out and added AD this summer their ratings would be be better because people would want to see AD and Dame. CJ and Nurk are “stars” in Portland but not really out of Portland.

Id say they are no less a star elsewhere as any other non all star on any other team is here.

The thought is a superteam wont get ratings unless they win. Regardless of stars, if they dont win would the world watch? Would the world watch a superteam in the regular season if they couldnt win in the playoffs?

The premise is the third star makes the team good enough to win, thus improving ratings.

How many eyes watched NO all season when they had both dmc and ad and were a bottom team?

How many watched the lakers this year after they folded? How many would be watching if lbj had a couple of star around him getting him to the finals this year?

The team has to win to get ratings and make people watch. The third star helps the team win. Take away the third star and the team doesn't win and people wont watch.

Thats a vacuum of course but i think quite logical.

He's an upgrade in most every respect aside from 3 point shooting and age.

If you are going to trade CJ, you have swing for the fences and get someone like AD though on a Kawhi-like rental. I think this playoff run is going to make teams lest risk adverse to pursue those contracts.

How are you trying to explain to me the point behind you disagreeing with me? The topic is my point since thats what you're saying is wrong. You're trying to tell me what my premise is when you dont understand it...

But then they never come here. I think a lot of guys respect Dame, Im not sure if Dame has enough pull to get any of them to come to Portland.

I wouldn't trade DeMar for CJ.
Hell, I wouldn't trade CJ. I would simply coach him to take better shots and play smarter. And this is why I rather change the coach than trade our assets. It is harder to find better players than better coaches( I believe).
The raptors have been using a lineup of Fred and Kyle against the Warriors. Both are small guards. But both their wings (Siakam, Kawhi ) are multi dimensional players who are excellent defenders, can handle the ball and play with a high IQ. When Serge is added, those 3 can switch and block anything.
Again, I hope Stotts is watching. Maybe he can learn a thing or two from the Raptors.

This is the first year though that Dame can say "See how far we got? Imagine if we had you too!" Instead of saying "Hey, come help us not get swept out of the 1st round!"
