    I mean…. Yeah.

Simons has played like one half of basketball this season. Scoot is hurt. Brogdon is hurt. Rob is hurt. Shaedon is hurt and playing 40 minutes per night.

What happens when dame Lillard leaves a team built around him, on both sides of the ball

To be clear, you're saying that if our offense was better, that opposing teams' offense would also be better? What exactly are you suggesting here--that teams aren't trying as hard on offense against us because they don't have to?

Portland is better on defense this year, but I think their defensive rating is in large part a function of playing a schedule than has been 'loaded' with shitty offensive teams.

speaking of ratings and looking ahead to the lottery and draft:

one of the best predictors of wins and losses is net rating (of course it might be a chicken/egg thing). Portlan's current net rating is -6.9. Last season, a -6.9 net rating equaled around 24-25 wins and a 4th seed in the lottery. The year before, about 24 wins and 5th seed in the lottery. Silver linings I guess

it was built around Dame when Portland finished 8th in defensive rating a few seasons ago

it does help defense not to have both Dame and Ant (or CJ) starting in the back-court

it also helps defensive rating to have played a bunch of teams bad at offense. So far, Portland has played 1 game against a team in the top-10 of offense; and only 3 games against teams in the top-half of the league in offense. But they have played 4 games against bottom-5 offenses; and 7 of 11 games against teams in the bottom-10 on offense. That kind of schedule will spit-shine a defensive rating

I don't think we will get 20 wins this season. Just looking at the schedule and predicting that we offload at least Jerami but probably both Jerami and Malcolm at the trade deadline either for prospects that aren't as "win now", picks or both.

Combination of a number of things. First teams are sitting starters against the blazers. I’m wondering if both LeBron and Davis play tonight. Then they rarely have even been in the game in the fourth after the 8 minute mark. Next the Blazers are bad. Really really bad. Teams are playing down to their level.
Nothing to back this up but teams are not getting excited to play the Blazers. This team is barely a road bump on any real road trip or home schedule for 29 teams in the league.

Then all terrible teams should have "good" defense. For one reason or another POR ranks ahead of DET and WAS

Maybe Portland has better defense than Det and Wash? Of course that ain’t saying much but it certainly is plausible?

There is at least some truth to what you are saying. It's hard to know exactly how much. However, it is certainly a pessimistic pov, and I'm trying to stay positive, as much as I realistically can.

Last year he was simply missing shots. He was getting good looks.

This year, he’s not creating the separation like he previously did to to get off good shots. This year his shot quality is more difficult. As result he’s also dribbling a lot more as well because his initial action/motion is not creating space.

Two things about the Wiz: special tournament jersey is the worst design I think I have ever seen. All it's missing is some Comic Sans font. BUT I think Coulibaly will end up being the second best player in this draft.

Wemby is not fair. It's like he's playing on a fisher price hoop.

Someone told me today that Khawi Leonard is on the spectrum. It kinda makes sense.
