All the picks for GPII were second rounders.

    https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/paytoga02.html#all_transactions

"the Atlanta Hawks traded a 2023 2nd round draft pick (Rayan Rupert was later selected), a 2024 2nd round draft pick ( was later selected) and a 2025 2nd round draft pick ( was later selected) to the Portland Trail Blazers;"
" the Golden State Warriors traded a 2026 2nd round draft pick ( was later selected) and a 2028 2nd round draft pick ( was later selected) to the Portland Trail Blazers."

It doesn’t matter if they were 1sts or 2nds. Wiseman isn’t a good player, all things considered, so no one was even going to offer even a bad 1st for him. So it was clearly better to just not take on the salary and bet on him turning it around just because he was the 2nd overall pick.

Karma is a bitch. I don't wish injury on anyone but for him to milk a Golden State paycheck in a suit is just priceless after the toradol drama. Now they have to pay him not to play.

He was utterly dominant in the paint. Unstoppable.

I’m not convinced Portland wasn’t responsible for this too. Let’s wait ‘till Shams gets us all the facts—he’s good for it.

Denver’s starters totalled 0 turnovers tonight. That might be a record. And it’s not like they weren’t passing the ball. They, the starters, had 26 assists. MPJ had 30/10/5 tonight. Damn, if he’s going to start playing like that, there’s gonna be a dynasty in Denver.

The Kings were benefactors of good injury luck last season and overachieved. They decided to stand pat on their roster and that was a mistake. They simply are a mediocre team. It seems like they could use a Jerami Grant on their roster.

I’ve always liked MPJ dating back to high school. Always looked like a tier 1 scorer. Started to get turned off when I saw the tunnel-vision. Once he learns to move the ball more, he’s going to continue to get better on offense. He isn’t the clear #2 in Denver, but I think he’s going to be an AS and be remembered as the second best player of whatever this Denver run becomes.

But of course we'd never consider trading the mighty Scoot for him.
