Wonder how a team that was never supposed to advance out of the 1st round again took a game off the Warriors.... in the playoffs... While being the road team...
If The Dubs don't win a game in Memphis...
Memphis is winning game 5 to advance to the conference finals.
Granted I believe it'll be 2-2 going back to Cali.. But... That's more cause of what Memphis does than the Warriors.

It is weird. I've never seen such a good shooter airball so frequently. He must have a case of the Bonzi-itis, i.e. blacking out at inopportune times.

Kingspeed has maintained that the Blazers would handle the Warriors because the Warriors can't handle our front line.

Although he may be a bit optimistic in that assessment, clearly the Warriors cannot hope to handle the Grizzlies front line.

The Griz were, IMO, our worst possible match up. I think the same could be said for the Warriors.

If the Warriors get out of this alive (I hope they do), they ... should....go....all....the....way! [/Howard Cosell]

    I LOVE TONY ALLEN!
He's the clostest thing to Dennis Rodman since Dennis Rodman.
Or maybe he's Anthony Mason? I can't decide. Pure awesomeness either way.

It just goes to show you how a solid defensive team strategy can work. This is not about great individual defensive players. Sure some of them like Allen make a big difference, but like in San Antonio you see players who were not known for their D, step up for the Grizz. A couple of our fans could not comprehend how Zbo could defend LMA or why Dame could not blow by a "wounded" Conley. But you have to give props to Joerger, this is what they do. The guys has a system that even Vince Carter is effective in.

It's not pretty. I would much watch the Warriors in a free flowing, high scoring game, but the Memphis style works.

DHo just flat out hit Griffin in the face on purpose. Seen him do that crap many times.

Part of that is because the Clippers intentionally sent Howard to the line for more than 20 freethrows. You can't commit fouls intentionally and then whine about how many FTs they shot.

They also sent Harden to FT line intentionally in the final minute.

I was at this game and that's not what I saw at all. I was actually surprised with how well gs defended the grizzlies bigs and kept them off the glass, especially when draymond was on the much bigger gasol. To their credit. The Warriors will typically put together an 8 or 9 minutes stretch where they completely shut down the other team and z-bo and gasol seemed to stop that whenever I thought it was starting. I think the w's were hurt by some dumb fouls early in the game, and I don't think the refs helped them out at all, but speights and ezeli played well enough to make up for it. This game was won the mem backcourt. Conley was out of his mind hitting everything, off hand runners from the free throw line and even banked in what looks like it was supposed to be a pass to Randolph down low. And Allen was a beast on defense. The gs backcourt was 13 of 34. That has nothing to do with their bigs and was certainly the reason Memphis won the game. Oh well, get them next game.

John Wall has five fractures in his hand and wrist. This playoffs has been tough on point guards.

(Wall and Conley are undefeated, though.)
