Any title won in Brooklyn is tainted after the Harden trade. Durant has proved he doesn't have what it takes to lead a team a championship by himself. He needs to be surrounded by 3-4 other Allstars

Unfortunately, stars won't come here to form a super team. Dame would have to go elsewhere.

I think Dame's values are a bit different, maybe more than a bit, actually. He doesn't come across as a guy who would "sell his soul" to get a ring. Whether that means demanding a trade, demanding others are traded etc., only he knows. It does seem likely that he could have gone to LAL a year or two back if he so desired. If he is ok with doing it the old-fashioned way, I presume, perhaps I should be too. Fuck the superteams. Fuck the Nets and the Lakers.

I would rather be a Blazers fan than a superteam fan. Any day of the week. Sure, it's hard to define a superteam but still if it walks like a duck...
Time to get fed up, Portland won't win a title this year, so just make it hard for the others to win one. Be the team that nobody really wants to face for 7 games.

I'd like to think that's true, but LeBron's super team sins were immediately forgotten. The big market narrative will let Brooklyn off the hook, too.

Anybody else have a hard time seeing allstar voting starts tomorrow? the timing of this award never ceases to confound me.At this point it's gong to be purely a popularity contest even more so than usual

Lebron was the player that started the team up phase.

It is supposed to be a popularity contest. It's not about current performance it's about the league getting their most valuable commodities (nba superstars are far more valuable to the league and their teams than they are aloud to be paid) showcased and to reinforce that they are stars. The allstar game or even having a guy named an allstar is about branding and making money. The national audience and casuals only tune in to watch people that they've heard of. They only hear of guys being talked about by mainstream media not sports media. So the NBA has to do what they can to build those guys up. As many as they can as big as they can.

kevin durant winning the chip with the brooklyn nets would be nothing like winning the chip with the gsw

he joined 73 win team that already won a chip and went to another nba finals, while brooklyn nets were nowhere near good as those gsw... signing with the gsw was a coward move, signing with the brooklyn nets isnt

sure, brooklyn is a superteam now, but they werent a superteam without harden and when kyrie and durant signed with the brooklyn nets, they had no idea they could get a third star

A healthy Embiid playing like this might be the only chance of someone knocking of the lakers this year in June

Lost some respect for LeBron after he is arguing against his obvious flagrant against Embid.

And then these announcers saying it wasn't intentional. He intentionally pushed him with both hands while Embid was in the air.
