I think lying to him is kinda scummy.

Agreed. But again, it's not like players have never said one thing and done another.

I imagine they lied to him because they didn't want him throwing a fit before the trade was done and screwing it all up.

I think the anger is that he took a pay cut for the team to sign someone to help.

Well, we know he lied to the fans but we don’t know what he told the team. I am convinced that he told them he wanted out years before he left and they rolled the dice and called his bluff..... only he wasn’t bluffing.

We don't really know the story, but based on the scant info we have, you're right.

When a player is under contract, he an employee of a team! If he gets traded it's like him being transferred from one company location to another. He still earns his millions.
Once his contract is up and is a UFA is can sign where he wants. Its not like he's signed a non-compete clause and cant go to a competitor, its more like what company location do you want to work for.

He can sign where he wants. And teams can trade him when and where they want. There's no loyalty either way, that's my point.

    Uh, no.

The Lakers and Blazers are not the same company. You can't make an analogy between most businesses and the NBA. If you work in an office it's not like your employer can trade you to a direct competitor on the other side of the country in exchange for other office workers they feel are a better fit.

For whatever reason, I thought I there was an article (could've been a fake headline) saying that no one on the Raptors was untouchable. Could be wrong, but it's a moot point.

C'mon man, we couldn't've trade CJ for DeRozan. Zero chance.

Prior to this entire fiasco, he was my favorite player in the game. Very refreshing to see a player who's pretty efficient on both sides of the floor. Plus, he didn't have to do any trash-talking (never been my style, but just my opinion) as he let his play do the talking. Now? I lost a LOT of respect for him given how he has behaved throughout this entire situation and never did an interview or anything like you mentioned. Also, I'm starting to wonder, does he even want to play basketball? He doesn't want to play for the Spurs anymore, he made it clear he doesn't want to play for the Raptors (tough luck and suck it up), he doesn't want to play for a superteam (respectable), there are some reports saying he doesn't want to play for the Lakers since LaBron arrived (*shrugs shoulders*), not sure he if truly wanted to play for the Clippers, etc.

I think I understood where he was getting at. To me, I don't think he's saying that shooting isn't important (I mean seriously, who in their RIGHT MIND would think that shit in today's league?), but it arguably more important for a team to play great defense and be mentally tough. There is no better example of this than the game 7s in BOTH conferences. In the West, we had a team in the Rockets who had great shooting, but when it counted most, their shooting was fucking garbage and crumbled in the way that a Harden-led team would (LMAOOOOOOOO at 27 missed 3s). It's not like the Rockets were playing great defense. In the East, we had a team in the Celtics who also had good shooting, but essentially choked. However, they kept it close because of their team defense and mental toughness (never over til it's over) until LeBron had enough. Just my two cents.

Yeah hey Demar, you got traded because another player showed less loyalty than any player I can remember.

I just have a hard time imagining Olshey trading his golden boy for anyone. Our roster shows he loves his picks and he seems completely enamored with this backcourt. Furthermore, he's immune and even defiant to public opinion. Let me put it this way: I'd be very surprised if CJ was traded during Olshey's tenure here.
