Trading him was just business. BSing him about the situation was unprofessional.

This is your opinion, and you've every right to it, but just know that it's not based on anything more than supposition on your part. You're not alone. A lot of guys around here see nothing happening with the Blazers and come to the conclusion that Olshey is just too in love with his own players. His history as a GM doesn't support that notion since he's been willing to make major deals elsewhere when opportunities became available. Eric Gordon was a nice player for the Clippers, but Olshey didn't blink at sending him down the road when the chance came to get CP3. He's let popular players and friends of Dame's go multiple times here in Portland. The key ingredient to a deal getting done is having the right assets at the right time to get the player you want. That hasn't happened here for a major player yet, but that doesn't mean that it won't in the future.

That's a fair point. At least with CJ he has some reason to keep him. The situation with Meyers is just disgusting.

LOL. Not trying to pick on you, I've just been seeing this same idea presented as "fact" here recently. #triggered.

It should be noted that the CP3 trade is the only significant trade Olshey has ever made...and that was 1. while with the Clippers 2. in 2011 and 3. assisted by David Stern. (The other biggish trade was Baron Davis and a first for nobody. The first turned into Kyrie Irving. It is only fair to note that that trade seemed forced by Sterling's dislike of Baron Davis...)

Every time I post something like this I get tagged as an apologist for NO. I don't intend it that way, but I do realize that he can only play the hand he has and let's face it, he's only got a pair of Kings and a bunch of not much else. Admittedly, some of what he's holding is his own fault due to playing other hands poorly, but still, I can't fault him for not landing one of the big FAs this summer when he never had the assets to do it. (Yes, Gronk, I know you think he could have traded CJ for Leonard or Butler (or maybe even LeBron) despite the fact that you yourself think CJ is only a mid-level talent).

It would appear MP JR had back surgery last week.

Google the link, think it was Steve Aschburner

I knew who it was and I even read the story prior to this and I don't follow the game (or work for an NBA team)

I didn’t read the story and didn’t know of a player called MPJR. Is that weird? Do the majority of people know who MPJR is and I missed the boat?

Players really don't get to choose their teams until free agency.

    It's a player's league.

    There's nothing to support that.

Lots of folks are convinced trump is doing a good job too.
