We we're the 2nd worst defense in the history of the NBA. Sorry.
    There, I said it.

Just have the Schonz on repeat telling him he has to make his free throws.

Those who do not learn from History are bound to repeat it. Doc Rivers should be fired.

Not really. He ain't moving to center. He isn't big enough. Gobert, Ayton, Davis, Jokic hell even Nurk would walk over him.
If you put him at PF. Then you basically have Aminu again. Every defense sagging off him and cruising the lanes daring him to shoot the ball.
Simmons makes your offense 4 on 5. The only thing that is going to help is him getting into the gym and making a commitment to making free throws and then somehow someway becoming a respectable 3 point shooter.

    Yep.
He has to make that commitment to improve. He needs to make free throws. Even 70% would be good enough.
Then he needs to be respectable from three. 33% from the corner at least.
This is Ben Simmons we are talking about. 24 years old. He can work hard and improve but at this point you don't give up CJ for him. No way in my book.

I could be wrong. He might make the transition?
Still he needs to work on free throws and it would help if he could actually shoot from somewhere on the court.
I also doubt he is truly 6-11.
Standing next to Embiid. He doesn’t look it.

Rudy Gobert couldn’t walk over a slug.
Ayton isn’t exactly an offensive juggernaut either.
Jokic destroyed Nurk too. And I actually like Simmons on Jokic more than Nurk.
Nurk wouldn’t walk over a slug with his stupid ass floaters.
Anthony Davis is longer than Simmons but it’s not like Simmons is 200lbs. Dude is 240+
let’s not be unrealistic about his skills. He can defend his ass off. The problem is entirely offensively.
Also imagine those centers trying to guard him (if he managed to attack the basket again.) Nurk would foul out in a quarter

If all this was true then why have they been playing him where he is playing?
    Next question-
If all this is true why is everyone even having this conversation about a #1 pick?

I get it. He plays good defense no question. My point is and has always been that he needs to start working on his offensive game. I happen to think he can improve but he needs to get on it quickly!

His draft combine measurements are 6-10 in shoes by the way. 6-11 is a stretch.

“However, what price would Boston be willing to pay for a guy in Simmons who has shown consistent flaws in the postseason time and time again with his lack of floor spacing and subpar free throw shooting. The Celtics certainly aren’t offering their All-Stars for him and would need to include a big contract to make the money work…making Al Horford the piece probably needed in the deal to make the money matching work. Philadelphia could probably field better offers than that, even if Boston sweetened the deal with other young players. However, I doubt the Celtics would be eager to include much other young talent since the remaining four years and $140 million on Simmons’ deal suddenly looks like an albatross. Avoiding that deal altogether is probably Boston’s best bet since adding him would keep them from having cap room or the ability to add a key piece to their young core anytime soon.”

Because they have a guy by the name of Joel Embiid on the roster? I think that’s probably why.

    https://www.phillyvoice.com/sixers-...-problems-news-rumors-joel-embiid-doc-rivers/

This Philly media member points out he can’t stay because his best fit is… small ball center.

I mean a lot of #1 picks have been busts or very, very bad. That is not Ben Simmons. I just wouldn’t want to touch that contract with a ten foot pole.

Also it’s kind of funny the same people riding Olshey ass aren’t giving the same treatment to Ben Simmons, who is known for being a combative prick with the media.

He's bad against a guy bigger than him; just like CJ. Well, actually CJ is bad against just about everyone.

This isn’t a comparison between players.
I was curious if Aldo was going to mention how Curry got benched because he was getting worked by Huerter.
No mention of CJ and not sure why you’re bringing him up unnecessarily.
