I also dislike the lack of nuance around the discussion of drop defense.

I agree that a deep drop has no place in the playoffs at this point against the elite off the dribble creators / shooters.

But you still can be more aggressive at the point of attack and play your big higher up on the floor and have a lot of effectiveness with it.

You can also utilize aggressive stunts and recovers to disrupt the ball handlers rhythm if you want to play your big a little bit further back. We saw the clippers do that really well against CP and Book in game 3. They also did a great job mixing up where they're bringing that help.

And honestly I feel like that that is going to throw a guard off more than how you choose to play your big. The first read for all these guys is incredibly easy at this point. They're all so well drilled. But if you can make the second and third read unpredictable I think that's where you're going to bring out the most indecision from these guys.

I'm not saying being able to switch up your scheme with your big is not important and can't provide some sort of value, but i think it's overstated.

The effort intensity and discipline you play within your scheme it's always going to be more important than any one scheme on its own, and that's where we have the most ground to make up.

I find it somewhat interesting that Becky Hammon isn’t seemingly in play for any job at this point in time but Blazers Twitter and the woke media say we should’ve just hired her.

I actually believe Dame that he never said anything off the cuff. I think he was given a list from day one and had that list when he said Kidd or Billups. Otherwise I just can't see the guy not saying Vanterpool.

What is the difference between woke media and asleep media?

You find it "interesting" that a woman isn't in play for an NBA coaching job when there has never been a female NBA coach in history?

Neither exists but Fox News now uses "woke" instead of "Lamestream".

Yes, I find it interesting that she started out as a candidate and seemingly hasn’t progressed in any of the jobs she’s interviewed for, despite media/fans/etc all clamoring for her.

Is she interviewing that poorly? Is the NBA that scared of hiring a woman?

    Curious to know why.

Especially following the report by someone who said, “if Hammon doesn’t get it this time, I think there is another woman who will probably be hired before her.”

    Wonder why that is?

She could have been offered every job she's interviewed for but turned them down.

I could see her and Pops move into a very similar situation as Spo and Riley in Miami.

You sit down for an interview in Portland with Olshey and compared to Pops Olshey is going to look like an idiot.

The point is that we have no idea why she does not have a head coaching position.

And because we don't know doesn't mean she is a bad candidate.

Which is why I said “interesting” in the OP.

Although I have a hard time believing she’s being offered, say, the Orlando job and saying “nah, I’m good.”

I assume she’s not knocking the ball out of the park because not once have I seen a tweet say, “really impressed” or “looking like a front runner.” In regards to her.

I doubt she is turning down ANY HC job her way. But, like I said… “interesting”

I was only offering the opinion that I think there is too little information available to draw any conclusions.

I could see Pops telling her to take the interviews, just like I could see Riley telling Spo to take an interview if he wants.

It’s only the third quarter, but whoever this defensive coach is for Milwaukee is, may be decent if Billups ends up not here

I wish I could remember which writer on ESPN said it, but they talked about how the Hawks could make it to the finals.

Are the Hawks and the Suns the best two teams in basketball?
