It really makes you wonder if choosing being a bum instead of an NBA superstar really is a wise decision.

If the game was small ball & run and gun three point shooting, 50 years ago, I would have spent hours as a 6' shooting three's and could have been an all star. And the Blazers wouldnt have won the ship in 76/77. lol
Rick Barry would have been the highest paid player in the league.

I chose NBA superstar but it seems it takes a little more effort than just choosing. Anyway i'm still willing to chose that route?

It's all about the money in today's NBA! With load management of course.

Anyone read "The Hoops Whisperer" by Idan Ravin?
Im about 1/2 through, and its ok. About an NBA player trainer that worked with numerous stars including CP, Melo, Curry etc. Really gets into the kind of people they are as well as round ball talents.

I don't know about that. I feel like there are a ton of guys that believe that they should be compensated for all of the revenue that they generate, which is only fair but I think if LeBron James had to choose between a lavish lifestyle as a business exec or a comfortable upper middle class lifestyle as a basketball player he would choose the latter. I could go on and on about other players that would do the same.

Yeah maybe it's around a 50/50 split but that might even be a little cynical. We do know that for Anthony Edwards he would rather be playing football and probably could at a lower level but the money is better for him in the NBA so he's about the money before the game. Also it's important like it is in so many instances in life to realize that the situation isn't binary. All of these guys started playing the game because it interested them and they had to love being so good at it, none of them started the game playing for money but when they did start making money, money not only became one of the priorities but because the money made them better off, it had to increase their love for the game that brought them that money and opportunity. So it's not as simple as you are saying.

He fits well in a back court with Trae. Having that back court Gallo and Collins means that floor will be stretched on offense.

I guess my major complaint is the size of the contract they get. Yes there making owners money too and they want a share of that I agree with them 100 percent on that and there putting a entertainment for people and yes they should get paid that just any other entertainer just like a singer and just like any other entertainer. But the size of there contracts is my biggest complaint today 196 million dollars contract for 5 years. Some of these players only play good offense or good defense. That's mean there one way players so do they deserve 30 to 40 million dollars a year my answer is hell no especially it's a game that there supposed to love. But I don't blame them for taking it someone going give that much money love it or hate I pretty sure majority who jump all over it. Then they have there endorsement that's makes them million of dollars because there good basketball players. Yes majority give back to there community that's great.
