I love that this thread comes on the 21st of October when a lot of the time we have the "current months" like 3-4 days in advance. Should've just went with November heh. :)

it's pretty obvious they re-signed him so he wouldn't pull a Kwahi Leonard and cry his way out of Toronto.

How does a guy that’s around basketball as much you end up so clueless? Siakam is better than a lot of the players on that list and is a legit two way player.

    c'mon man....that's distortion

start with the fact that Siakam will be making 29M his first season...and that 1st season isn't until next year. So then, the salaries next year:

    Stephen Curry $43,006,362
    Chris Paul $41,358,814
    Russell Westbrook $41,006,000
    James Harden $40,824,000
    John Wall $40,824,000
    LeBron James $39,219,565
    Kevin Durant $39,058,950
    Blake Griffin $36,595,996
    Paul George $35,450,412
    Klay Thompson $35,361,360
    Mike Conley $34,504,132
    Jimmy Butler $34,379,100
    Kawhi Leonard $34,379,100
    Gordon Hayward $34,187,085
    Tobias Harris $33,517,241
    Kyrie Irving $33,329,100
    Khris Middleton $33,051,724
    Kemba Walker $32,742,000
    Damian Lillard $31,626,953
    Kevin Love $31,300,000
    Kyle Lowry $30,000,000
    Joel Embiid $29,542,010
    Kristaps Porziņģis $29,467,800
    Devin Booker $29,430,000
    Karl-Anthony Towns $29,430,000
    CJ McCollum $29,354,152
    Andrew Wiggins $29,290,000
    Ben Simmons $29,250,000
    Jamal Murray $29,250,000
    Pascal Siakam $29,100,000 (est)

CJ will make more than Siakam in every season of Siakam's deal (except maybe Siakam's 4th), and neither are "superstars", but Siakam is the only one of those two with a chance to be, however small it is (he's too old to have a huge upside, IMO). He'll be the 30th highest paid player, and the 25th highest paid the following season. But that's assuming that no other players will sign big deals over the next 2 seasons...how likely is that?

    last year's numbers:

    PER: CJ 17.0....Siakam 18.7
    TS%: CJ .553....Siakam .628
    eFG%: CJ .527....Siakam .591
    FT Rate: CJ .154....Siakam .320
    assist rate: CJ 13.8....Siakam 14.6
    winshares/48: CJ .114....Siakam .175
    box plus/minus: CJ 0.3....Siakam 3.4
value over replacement: CJ 17.0....Siakam 18.7
    DRPM: CJ -1.05....Siakam +2.16
    RPM: CJ 1.14....Siakam 3.80

looks like Siakam did a little more than just show up in the playoffs. And,unlike CJ, Siakam can actually play some good defense. Many people here were saying that CJ's contract was a good one.

I'd trade CJ for Siakam in a heartbeat, but I doubt that would get a lot of traction around here. In any event, if you think CJ has a decent contract, Siakam's is a bargain

I really like Buddy's contract for the Kings. It's declining each year too.

You think he's worth over $20 million a year? I think they would've been better off matching offers next summer.

21/5/3 on 46/42/89 shooting splits, in only 32 mpg? Absolutely is worth it. His salary in the final year of that deal is about equivalent to Bazemore's this year.

Both are all right contracts. Hield is a big part of Kings future and a perfect fit next to Fox and Bagley.
