Buy back the Rose Garden name and apologize to the city and fans. Seriously, you cheapen Portland's reputation with such a crass sellout move.
For the love of god, Civic Stadiums name has change twice and it didn't receive 1/100th the bitching. Hell, Civic Auditorium changed names, so did Washington park zoo and the Made in Oregon sign.
No upside. Just dozens of politically correct, smiling goofballs. Probably like most, I'm posting a lot less while I get my bearings in this snowstorm of goodness.
That's the word. This board has been magged. Dozens of happy Magnifiers are magging us to death with political correctness.
I like one magger like you, but this new virtuous snowstorm of goodness is too many flakes, uh, too white of a Christmas.
Just think of it like your Cocaine addiction. Sometimes that good snow flaky whiteness is too hard to control.
Hmm. That sounds better. And that foggy gray banner at the top of the page that replaced the bright red sunny one...is the color of mushrooms growing in the dimness at dusk beneath the evergreens. Okay, this is better now.
I think it is only logical that we should have a site chosen to retreat towards after the inevitable influx of casual facebook fans turn this site into subway station in times square, flush with corporate pimps, the unwashed, illiterate mindless consumer drones and parasitic wolves, devoid of original thought, compassion, or a sense of self. All conversation will devolve into catch phrases and inflammatory baiting, where nobody is brave enough to reveal themselves or their thoughts for fear of shame, or worse, mass indifference. The dialog will resemble drunken vomit on a cobblestone walkway, festooned with the litter and refuse of casual tourists and the dirty needles of escape, expertly lit with neon advertisements. We are under attack, and I can already hear the drumbeats and smell the fetid corpses. Run for your lives
