page 5 I just hope we can keep the spot once we get it......I think we can easily creep into the 8 hole either early next week or soon thereafter, but its gonna take road wins against the teams we're battling at the end of the season. The last few weeks should be fun, with a home and away series against Miami on April 9th and 10th, sandwiched in between our final two games against Milwaukee on the 2nd and 12th. Knuckle up!!
Gentlemen, you're at a 10, I need you at a 4 Although I'm diggin' all the love sent the Cav's way, you are forgetting one simple thing. We don't have the moxy to compete in the playoffs. I think we need one more decent 3 to really give this team the ability to win games when they matter. Don't give me this Kapono guy, I'm not sold, we had a guy like him, named Ferry, shoot the lights out all day, ask him to move without the ball or play D, forget it. Lebron is going to change the game, but he needs a year to do it, he isn't ready for the physical and mental abuse that he will see in the stretch run. Boozer IS READY, but what about Z? What about McGinnis? Long story short, let's finish out of the playoffs, get a big free agent 3, draft a center and prepare for some big things in 2005. regards Mark Price
I don't think your argument makes a lot of sense. It would be a lot easier to bring in a big time free agent at the 3 if we make it to the playoffs this year. Good players want to go to playoff teams. Also, what center would you recommend we draft? We already have 3 (counting Battie), one of which is a project. Bringing in another project at center isn't going to put us over the hump in one season. Besides, the Cavs if they don't make the playoffs, we'll probably look at drafting a point guard.

Second, with Lebron, it doesn't matter if we make the playoffs, Pro's know they can gravy train on him, if you build it, they will come, right? Third: Z is gone, sooner rather than later, and if you think Diop and Battie are the answer, I wouldn't want to play on your recreation league team! : ) We need a 3 period, we need a true scorer outside of Lebron, someone who can put up 20 on a consistant basis and also haul down 6 or 7 boards a game, that is what would put us over the top. Just my opinion
Back on topic, the Cavs are close enough to the playoffs to have a thread like this, plus since the McInnis trade, the Cavs have had the 3rd best record in the east. Playoffs are realistic. Cavs beat the Magic Celtics beat the Raptors Knicks play @ the Clippers later on Things just keep going our way fellas, I expect the Raptors to fall way out of it before it is all said and done. Cavs are just 1.5 games behind them for the 8th spot!
I don't think Raptors are playing well at all. If we keep winning at a steady rate, I think the Raptors will do the rest of the work for us, and keep losing. Who know's though the Raptors could catch fire, so we need to keep playing good ball.
Playoffs would be HUGE for this entire organization in LeBron and Silas's first seasons. I would gladly give up a mid first rounder for a shot to do some damage in the playoffs.
Once again, everything works out for the Cavs. We beat the Magic like we should have. We wanted the Celtics to beat the Raptors, they did. The Clippers just beat the Knicks <font size="1">(who are 3-7 in their last 10!)</font> Here are the updates after tonights games.... Team, record, games back 6: New York, 26-34, 17 7: Miami, 25-33, 17 8: Toronto, 25-33, <font color="Red">17</font> 9: Cleveland, 24-35, <font color="Blue">18.5</font> 10: Boston, 24-36, 19 11: Philadelphia, 23-35, 19 Again, since the McInnis trade, the Cavs have the 3rd best record in the East behind the Nets and the Pacers. I expect Miami to move up to the 6th seed and the Cavs to pass the Raptors and contend with the Knicks this week because of our favorable schedule.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mark Price:</div><div class="quote_post">First of all, we aren't going to make the playoffs, period.</div> I will take your word on that MP. As a matter of fact, that quote is going to be my new sig. Thanks.
Jeezus KJ, you change sigs like underwear! Well at least it's not like Big Neezy changing his Jordan sigs every pay day or whatever he does.
OK boys and girls, we have some really big games today on Feb 29th. As of this morning, our Cavaliers are 1 game behind the Miami Heat for the 8th spot and 1 and a half games behind Toronto and New York for the 7th and 6th spots. The Celtics and the Raptors are playing in Toronto today. A Boston win would move them into a tie with us (not a big deal) and it would put Toronto only 1 game ahead of us for the 7th spot. The Bucks and Heat are playing and a Bucks win will put us 1/2 out of 8th. The Nuggets are playing the Knicks and a Nuggets win would pull us within 1 game of 6th. It would also be nice for Philly to drop one to Minny tonight on ESPN. We could be looking at officially moving into the playoffs tommorow if all the games go as we need them to today. Lets go Celtics, Bucks, Nuggets and Wolves!!
Hopefully Denver can give you guys a favour and beat the Knicks. Here's what I see going down tonight. Toronto wins against Boston, Bucks beat the Heat, Nugz beat the Knicks, and the Wolves destroy the Sixers. 3 out of 4.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting HardCore_BOozer:</div><div class="quote_post">Well we got one. Boston over Toronto.......</div> Milwaukee is leading Miami 100-95 with 2:10 remaining..... if the Bucks can hold on, we can offically pass Miami tommorow night with a W.

We are now only 1/2 game out of the 8th seed and can officially move into that spot tommorow with a W. It would be icing on the cake for Denver and Minnesota to win against New York and Philly.

We need to take advantage of the next two against the Bulls and Hawks before the tougher schedule begins!
I'm hoping we can win 4 out of the next 6 and gain a little space between us and the rest of the pack hunting for the 7th/8th spots. We have Chicago on the road, 2 against Atlanta, at New Orleans (tough), home against the Bucks and at Toronto. If we can win 4 of those 6, I think we will be comfortably in the playoff picture.
