<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DajuanWagner#2:</div><div class="quote_post">T-Mac for 60 points tonight? Hopefully... yes Realistic... no </div> I hope he busts out for 60, as he is in my fantasy team. Orlando are due for an upset, but that doesn't mean they'll ever get one. C'mon Magic!
id rather have boston win tonight, new york doesnt have that many tough games left, boston has a ton of those. im not worried about boston at all, they dont have enough size and depth for this stretch run, this little streak of theirs is going to hault very soon, like after they win against the knicks tonight.
ill take my chances on the double post rule considering the time that has elapsed........... indiana leads toronto 33-32, toronto is playin well, we better bring our best tomorrow orlando up 15-12 on miami, good start magic boston leads new york early as well things looking good thus far for the wine and gold on the scoreboard.
Thanks for the update polar.... Hopefully the Raptors will put so much into this game that they are drained for tomorrow. Bring on overtime. Really cant see the Magic playing for 4 quarters, but solid start all the same. STEVE KERR'S THOUGHTS ON THE PLAYOFFS! <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Cavaliers and Heat vs. Celtics, Raptors and 76ers There appear to be two playoff spots available for these five teams. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat are young, up-and-coming teams longing for a shot at the big boys in April. Both appear to be gaining momentum as the season winds down. Toronto Raptors coach Kevin O'Neill has patched together a roster full of waiver-wire casualties in the wake of a flurry of injuries. The first-year coach would love to have a playoff appearance on his resume. Who else can he sign up to help him get to the postseason? The Boston Celtics somehow have won five in a row, diminishing Danny Ainge's chances at the top pick in the lottery this year. He must be more conflicted than Tony Soprano right now. Ainge is building for the future, not the present. In the same vein, who knows where the Philadelphia 76ers stand mentally? Allen Iverson plays hard every night, but one never knows what type of support he'll get from his thin squad. The Sixers are in for a major restructuring during the offseason, and the players know it. Don't expect a frenetic run for the final playoff spot from this team. I like teams that really want to be there. Pencil in Cleveland and Miami in the first round. </div> I guess he's saying that Ney York are a lock for 6th. I've got other plans.
update... Raptors 50, Pacers 46 @ the half Celtics 26, Knicks 20 8:47 left in 2nd Magic 31, Heat 38 8:56 left in 2nd
Results not really going to plan, but our win over Toronto will fix things. I'm sure Indy can come home for us, to reduce the pressure some what. NY have tied it up at 29, while Miami lead now by 9.
update: Miami has taken control, 44-35 on orlando knicks and boston tied at 29 in 2nd toronto leads 50-46 in early 3rd on indiana, this cant happen, get it rollin pacers our fate has taken a turn for the worse, lets see how it ends up a little later
Raptors 63, Pacers 64 after 3 Celtics 46, Knicks 39 @ the half Heat 54, Magic 47 @ the half Close ones all across the board...keep it up Celts.
75-75 with 5 left, nothin would be better than an indiana win in overtime new york is within 2 at 55-53 boston miami still up 5 on magic philly leads chicago by 1 early
oooooooooooooooovertime in indiana, couldnt have scripted it better myself, 81-81 at end of regulation orlando hanging around, we know how dangerous that is, 85-80 miami boston and new york tied at 72
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KarmaCav:</div><div class="quote_post">Thanks for the update polar.... Hopefully the Raptors will put so much into this game that they are drained for tomorrow. Big win for the Celts, that game came down to the wire. Heat had no problem with Orlando in the 4th to win. Overall a solid night for us.
Raps had to go OT, so thats good for us. We're now evened up in the loss column with the Knicks also. Things are shaping up nicely, Cavs just need to keep taking care of business. Where did this 6 game win streak for Boston come from? I thought they were dead in the water two weeks ago.
Boston still has a tough road ahead, but how they are winning these games beats me. If they stay this hot...will make it tougher on us no doubt.
So if we beat Toronto tomorrow, we are tied for 6th with the Knicks??? But ahead of them due to ou 3-0 record on them??? Phili getting beat by the Bulls at last count.
Who woulda thought: Lebron in Playoffs, Carmelo out (article) This is coming from a Canadian newspaper so bear with me.... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">As preposterous as this seemed mere weeks ago, LeBron James might be in the playoffs and Carmelo Anthony might not. The NBA certainly would prefer it if both those high-profile rookies were available to bolster post-season TV ratings. Think about it: In the West, does the NBA want Anthony and the Denver Nuggets or Raul Lopez and the Utah Jazz? In the East, does the NBA want James and the Cleveland Cavaliers or Rod Strickland and the Raptors? Be that as it may, the Cavs are in the thick of a six-team race for the final three playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. Heading into their game against the Raptors at the Air Canada Centre tonight, the retooled Cavs have won four games in a row and eight of their past 10. For those and other reasons, there's no cause to be less than blunt about this: James is the NBA rookie of the year. "I'm so tired I can't get dressed," the 19-year-old James said after scoring 34 points -- it was the 10th time he has scored 30-plus this season -- in a win against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. Well, if this is what James can do when he's tired, his opponents had best hope he never gets a full night's sleep. As a sports culture, we've become so accustomed to touted athletes not living up to expectations that we don't know how to react when one does. But what James has accomplished this season is so impressive, he has put considerable distance between himself and Anthony in the would-be rookie race, at least in the eyes of this observer.</div> http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Basketball/NBA/2.../10/377197.html To be honest, in the beginning of the season I thought both teams would be out of the playoffs by now. I don't agree with the authour that Lebron is the clear cut winner of the ROY, I think they will share it.
I'll move this to the playoff thread and keep the topic on the playoffs, because I am starting a huge project when it comes to ROY. So bear with me. To keep it on topic, Cavs would have to fold big time not to make it, while the Nuggets, well, I'm not sure why they have folded.
Suddenly meeting up with the Pistons in the first round doesn't seem so good after all.... They just held their 4th straight opponent under 70.
