If you watched Kaman on the Clippers, you knew he could do this.

    Go Blazers!

I think he also takes some pressure off of Lopez to stay out of foul trouble. It seemed to me that in some games Robin backed off early in games in order to stay on the floor. Which was a smart thing to do. However with more depth behind him from both Kaman and Joel, I think he can play a little more aggressive against guys like Howard, earlier in the game instead of waiting until the 4th.

By watching Kaman play, if you didn't know it would be hard to tell if he's right or left handed. His footwork in the post is a clinic. Great touch on the chip shots at the rim.

Yep, that's the thing I've always liked about Kaman's game. He's not very athletic, but he has very quick, active feet. I remember watching film on him before he was drafted and thinking this guy has legit size and great footwork, he's going to be a solid NBA center.

I haven't paid attention to Kaman since his days with the Clippers. And because I wasn't paying attention myself I just took what people were saying about his health as the truth. But I really liked his skill set when he was with the Clips. Sounds like he's still got it, too! So yeah - even before people started to shed light on the fact that his limited number of games played were mostly due to DNP-CD I was fairly excited about the pick up - far more so than I would have been about Hawes. That, much like Turkoglu, is a bullet that we somehow managed to dodge, despite every effort to take it in the chest.

    He's got great hands.
He knows how to use his large body.
He knows what he should be doing. Knows how to play the Team game.
He knows when to shoot, when to pass.
Doesn't get too high on himself. (insert obvious joke)
Not selfish, Just wants to win.
    Reasonable defensive player.
Uses both hands effectively (his lefty layups remind me a BRoy believe it or not).
Good passer, coach trusts him in the high post.

However, he is a bit slow. I'd like to see him in the low post more instead of the high post. On one play I saw him back his man in all the way from the high post. He shouldn't have to do that.

I think this year he'll be better than a certain "inner 10yo" player who signed with the Clips, but not long term.

p.s. not to turn this into a bashfest, but all of the different awesome skills Kaman has makes me loathe Biebs because I know he'll never have them.

He will get his time in the low post. But he is very effective in the High Post as well. He shoots that jumper at over 46% when LA hovers a little above 41%. Also when paired with TRob he will allow him space to scoop up boards left and right.

He could very well contend for 6 man of the year if he keeps producing like he has so far

Chris Kaman is like a white Patrick Ewing.

I should get an award for comparing him to a black man.

Kaman is a throw-back player. Like the PFs and Centers of the 80's and early 90s. These days bigs hardly have post skills.

I think he'll experience a resurgence here; Kim Hughes, the coach that really got him NBA ready offensively, is with us, and it never hurts to have your old coach with you to teach you those old man tricks he knows.
