I'm worried about this season. But I suppose we barely escaped purdue last year. I like LaMichael James. I think he is good. We should feed him at least 15x per game, imo. Our O-line needs to get better, and for the love of god defense...
I just don't think Masoli is capable of throwing the football. I haven't been impressed with his throwing game so far. The only decent pass he made all night was to a guy who dropped it.
Ah, I miss my carefree days as a U of O student. Back then, we KNEW the team sucked donkey balls. There was no false hope to torture us! Did the coaching change make this big of a difference? Did our former coach/new AD bail because he knew his recent recruiting was awful?
I am a lot more worried about our offense right now believe it or not. Our Defense was constantly put in bad situations last night. They also gave us 17 points last night. With how much time they are left out to dry on the field, and how many bad situations they are put in.. I would expect any Defense to get gassed. I do agree about our Line, and James though, Barner has also been a pleasant surprise.
I think a lot of it has to do with how little time the line is giving him. I'm not saying Masoli will ever have great accuracy. But he is having to go almost exclusively to his first read every time, since he has a lineman in his face about 65% of the time.
This. I dont see how people dont understand that. When you lose 3 offensive lineman to the NFL, its not going to be a seamless transition.
Either the coaching is inferior to what it was, or the talent level has gone down. Pick your poison. Masoli was over-hyped and makes an easy scapegoat - but it isn't fair to put it all on one guy.
Yes it has, hence the "losing the 3 lineman to the NFL" reference. While Masoli may have been overhyped based on his last 4 games last year, I dont think he has been nearly as bad as many think. There is only so much one person can do with a garbage O-line.
