    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting j0se:</div><div class="quote_post">Let me end this now.

Nate Robinson is not only 5"7, but he has no wingspand, his arms are bulky and short. His legs are pudgy and strong. He's the complete opposite of long.

For him to dunk and be a competition with long wing players alone is amazing. Any dunk he does will equate to their creative dunks.

But here what seperates Nate from the other guys.

Nate's dunks had the most creativity, and the reason why he got the crowd up so many times is because his formula of creativity, explosiveness, his hang time, his body control, and the ideas he came up with.

The Spudd Webb dunk was a classic momment and will always been remember and the most rememberable part of the Dunk contest. Nate brought it back two decades ago, and has set a standard for everyone.

Nate has proven height is overrated in the NBA, Nate has proven to alot of people who play and enjoy basketball, playing with heart and having not "quit" as an option"

Whats the matter with him trying 14 times? The god damn chamaquito was starting the dunk from half court, are you guys retarded?

Honestly, I feel you guys don't even play basketball and understand the staminia and longivity it takes to do what Nate Robinson did physically. It was a superior preformance to all the dunkers.

Iggy had a great preformance, but the guy lost by 2, if it by 1 then I would understand that he was robbed.

Iggy needed a point just to tie it, even Kenny Smith was trying his best to get it to be tied.

If anything, Iggy got welfared and assisted, but in the end, Nate's preformance was too superior to Iggy to quality for another dunk off.

Nate is the champion, and you guys have to live with this fact for a year.

    I love it

This is me during the dunk contest.

When he did his betweeen the legs and dunked it backwards with his left hand the whole thing should have been OVER. But then Kenny Smith holds up a 9, and realizes that it would beat Nate's scores changes it to an 8 therefore forcing a dunk-off.

76ers fans aren't just making it up go to espn.com and read for yourself, how the judges repatedly kept looking at each other to dictate the score and who won the contest.

Nate has the trophy, but I am sure Andre Iguodala has more peoples respect as the better dunker that night, he is the Peoples Champ and you'll here that from me for the rest of the year.

Oh well, you guys need to relax, i merely posted my thoughts and i guess it went a little off topic but i meant that as a joke [IMG].

Still they do all suck at jump shooting.

And the best Dunkers like Kobe, Lebron,Carmelo, and Kenyon Martin were not there.

All drama about who shoulda coulda woulda won aside, I have to say that I was pretty put out by having to wait for each guy to attempt his dunk a dozen times before he actually threw it down. How about we put a limit on number of attempts in the future. It just isn't that cool when you know what's coming because the guy's been trying it for 10 minutes, right? [IMG]

I did love Nate dunking over Spud Webb, that was awesome, and I'm glad he won, he's definitely one of the most exciting players in the league and a guy I really like.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting j0se:</div><div class="quote_post">What if Iggy won it? There would of been alot who would of said Nate was robbed.

It was a competitive competion, you saying Iggy was robbed proves you and 76er fans are crybabies, its a fact...if Nate lost it I wouldn't care, I was entertained. This thread has been 85% complaining, to the max, there has even been signatures made, avatars, gifs and other things. You guys are taking it too seriously and are forgetting about the competition that made it fun.

Especially Kenny Smith? Kenny Smith gave Nate's first dunk an 8, while every other judge gave Nate a 9...even Barkely and Smith agreed with each other on the score...so how you sound? You need to watch the contest over if you forgot that part (the beginning).</div>

Again man, we are not complaining that Nate won, we are complaining that the league tinkered everything in order to give Nate the advantage. How can you not see that? It's plain as day. Nate put on a show, I'll agree with that, but I can't see why anybody would want to keep a trophy that they were assisted in winning.

We are crybabies? Shows how mature you are... I guarantee you that if Iguodala would have won, Knicks fans would be complaining even worse than Sixers fans are. Trust me, I've lived in New York for 15 years, been around Knicks fans, and know how much worse they are, in terms of bitching, than Sixers fans. And, you wouldn't be complaining if Nate lost? Then what are you doing arguing that he did not deserve to lose?

Um, did you not see the part where Kenny Smith deliberately forced a dunk off? Maybe YOU need to watch the contest again before commenting.

And again, in your earlier post you said that if Iguodala lost by 1, you understand that he is robbed. Well, the fact of the matter is that he did lose by 1, but apparently you decided not to take that part of my previous post into consideration. [IMG]

Therefore, you agree he was robbed, and you have no valid argument. Thank you, and have a nice day!

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">All drama about who shoulda coulda woulda won aside, I have to say that I was pretty put out by having to wait for each guy to attempt his dunk a dozen times before he actually threw it down. I agree, and that's where the league came in and helped Nate. There was a "two-attempt" rule in previous years, and then this year they took it away. I wonder why...

Consider this: a few years ago Jason Richardson lost in the final round because he missed his dunk twice, and then Fred Jones won it because of that. Bottom line is that the league tinkered the rules to give Nate an even bigger advantage.

I'm done with this, unless a certain someone continues to make ludicrous comments. Obviously some Knick fans will refuse to acknowledge that Nate was aided, and some Sixers fans will argue that he was aided. But what does it say when most non-Sixer and non-Knick fans think Iguodala was robbed? I guess all of them are stupid too, right? Wow, some of you are blind, and are ignorant on top of that.

Andre Iguodala = 2006 Slam Dunk Champion.

I know exactly how to fix the Slam Dunk Contest judging. All they need to do, is judge similar to how snowboarding does with the 'Best Trick' event. Instead of having cumulative scores, each snowboarder's best trick carries over for the entire contest.

This way the best actual dunk is what each dunker has to beat. This also allows the person with the best leading dunk to try something even crazier instead of playing it safe because they don't want to lower their cumulative average.

    How did it work out...</div>
I guess it sounded good in theory, but it wasn't practical at all. It was harder for players to prepare dunks beforehand, and the win could be determined by luck of the spin. The worst example that I can remember was when Steve Francis got Dr. J. His hands were too small to palm the ball like Erving used to, and it just made it too hard on him.

Nate won, Knicks won the dunk contest, fall back.

    Wait till next year.

You can't disagree they both deserved it without a question, Nate just had it in the end.

Nate won it in the end, because the judges gave it to him. End of story.

Both put on a show, but the majority of people, even the judges, feel that Igoudala was robbed.

Nothing will change it, and bottom line is Iguodala was robbed.

The only thing that needs to be done now is the league needs to take this controversy, and use it to straighten up the way the contest is judged.

I am no where near a sixers fan and I feel Iguodala got robbed. He managed to complete his next dunk the 2nd time around. I would've gave Nate an 8 at that last dunk and that's still pretty high considering he took 14 trys to do it. He should've just got 8's across the board for that. And again that's being generous for taking that long.

Nate saved his best dunk for the Final, Iggy dunk was tight, maybe even the best of the night, but that was in the earlier, and what happened in the previous round doesn't count in the dunk off. Walk it off. Iggy ran out of ideas.

The rules say you can get as many dunk attempts as you want, so stop hating, its the rule, live with it, don't be a crybaby.

Nate was still creative in the sudden death, it had nothing to do with Nate's size that Iggy's last two attempts between the legs were basically the same. Iggy ran out of tricks late in the contest, he should have slammed it over Doctor J to win it.

    Congrats to Nate

    Now you, crybaby....

Wow, I'm not even going to bother responding to j0se's post... again. He refuses to acknowledge any viewpoint other than his own, which shows his level of maturity.

And I'm a crybaby? Why? Because, despite acknowledging Nate's brilliance, I have brought up countless points/arguments that you have no response to? Read my post in the other thread, and respond to those points before saying anything else.

Also, I'm not the one who repeatedly brings up the issue. You are! I simply am forced to respond to your posts because you fail to provide a decent argument, and refuse to respond to any valid points brought up without using the same comeback everytime. Go look at the other thread... you shouldn't miss it because it's in the Knicks forum.

    Now you, j0se:

Fall back... unless you stop being ignorant. Nate won, we've accepted it, but we also know he wasn't as deserving as Iguodala. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. If you don't share my opinion, good for you.

I agree, Mos just expressing his opinions, i read all of bigmo's posts and none of them said that he was being a nate hater, or a crybaby if u said it. It's called being a fan not a whiner, i think you'll do the same if Nate lost.

main point: IGGY DID GET ROBBED.But i still like Nate's performance over Iggys dont know why.

I don't think either Nate or Iguodala had a much better overall performance as a whole. If either one had a better performance, it was by a fairly close margin, however I believe the overall performance put on by each of them were pretty much the same in the end.

And yes, Knicks fans would probably be "whining" as well if the end result was the other way around. And j0se is "whining" when other people do not share his opinion.
