97-95 is way more fun than 80-78.

Butler was the best player on the court tonight.

Gasol is something else. There are some annoying aspects to him though. When he gets the ball, its not going out, and he's going to make his move. I guess that's OK if single covered, just not used to seeing the ball stick that long on one player. I also would like to see him get a hand up on shooters more often than he does. Sometimes he seems lackadaisical out there, which I'm not used to seeing on a Thibs team with Noah and Gibson. He's so skilled though.

Lots of players standing still on offense down the stretch. We rely on our 1 to initiate. Good for Rose and Brooks. Brooks! He's such a key player. Great 4th quarter from him.

Noah.... a shell of what he was last year. Tonight the team was lead by Jimmy Buckets and Gasol... and those have been our two best players so far this year. I doubt many would have picked that to start the season.

Again though, the other team is getting more of the loose balls and getting more of the rebounds. That doesn't bode well.

I can't help but feel like the Bulls really lost an opportunity when they let Deng go last season. The emergence of Butler and the addition of Gasol makes it so that you don't acutely feel Deng's loss, but how much better would this team be if it got consistent production at small forward?

It would be nice to still have Deng. But, Gasol has played so well, it does help to ease the pain.

Rose / Butler / Deng / Gibson / Noah would be pretty sweet though.

Butler, Gasol lead Bulls over Jazz 97-95

Injuries have made it tough for Chicago to realize its full potential this season. The Bulls can dominate any team for a quarter or a half, and let that team back into the game before the final horn.

This maddening inconsistency was put on full display in Chicago's 97-95 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night. Chicago imposed its will defensively and built up a double-digit lead. Then the Bulls lost that lead early in the fourth quarter and barely survived a Utah rally.
